I haven't been around that long and will share a quick general impression - I personally agree with Yeti in theory.

There's a thread for lifts, tires and supension on the site, but you have to wade through all the BS on Rangers and F150's to get to any SD information and then it's usually bogus so people end up back in the SD forums looking for answers.

I don't see any problem with locking threads on that subject and linking it to lift size and tire size questions FAQ with a graph of lifts and tires as previously mentioned. In such a FAQ I do think it would be important to note possible driveline issues, cross steering applications, point out varying OD tire sizes from different manufacturers and the fact that different lifts provide different real " lift ".

For example - I'm really tired of posting about driveline operating angles and matching u-joint angles to get rid of vibration associated with lifts. I want to help anyone I can to avoid problems, but I'm at the point now where I don't really care to share anymore. It takes too long and I'm basically a rookie here, so I can imagine that some of you are really sick of the same old crap. If it were in a FAQ it would be there for those who need it.

If you guys want to see some really bizarre posts check out www.subguns.com where I used to moderate full time and now just lurk and zap weird stuff. Specifically check out the Sword Discussion Board. And while you're there pick yourself up a nice legally transferable machine gun from the NFA ad section. Don't believe it - go look.

Ya, I belong to a BMW forum, for the E30's...just a bunch of kids that have no clue about anything.
They save up their money from working at Burger King in hopes of buying some cool wheels some day....
It's a funny place though...say what ya want and how ya want...I think if you don't use the F word you get banned from the site.

hEY yETI,

Anyway, I just went to FTE home, and them to the forum page looking for a FAQ page or link that was readily available or present. Nothing jumped out at me if there was one. So I got to wondering, can you put an FAQ as the frist line in General Discussions so as to direct newbies to there desired forums, or even a few links to common threads? Make it bold like N E W B I E S S T A R T H E R E or something?

Bossman, Im still a memebr threre, I can go there and take my agressions out on nebies

As far as the generall forum goes, unfortunetly, no that is where people must use common sence and look at the forums title before they post something.
