I have a 2003 F150 with stock tires (255/70Rx16) and no lift kit. I want to go with a little more aggresize tires than I can get from factory. But my question is I want to get a little larger tires too, I think the "stockers" just look undersized on the truck. I can't get a honest answer from any local tire dealers, everyone gives me a different answer. Anyone out there upsize their tires, and is so, how big did you go. Keep in mind I don't plan on making any lifts to the body, want to keep in fairly stock looking.
FORDS RULE!!!!!!!!
You could probably fit 1 to 4 inch bigger tires maybe even bigger. It depends on if they rub or not. Also since it is IFS fron suspension you might not be able to fit as big of tires with out a lift which is big$$$ for IFS. A nice tire that we have on one of our trucks is the BFG AT it performs OK off-road and is great for high way.
I've seen several 97- F-150's w/ 285-75's and they look really good. The tires look just big enough w/o looking too big for the truck. I would suggest a set of 285-75 R16's BFG AT's. They should look good and last you quite a while.
