Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 32.5 with some snow still on the ground. Mixed rain and snow all night long. We have a very little bit of sun right now coming through a hole in the clouds to the southwest of us. About 80% overcast, solid above us with dark gray clouds of the variety that could contain a lot of moisture.
58 summit at the ski resort finally got some snow that might possibly be a winter base. Compact ice and snow breaking up into slush now but they are showing 10" of roadside snow now.
Good evening Ford gang. Had all the family over from Portlad this past weekend, 14 of us. We all took over my shop for the weekend, All activities happened in the shop, even son of the boys even sheepping out there. Great weekend!!
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 29, overcast and a very light dusting of snow. Forecast is calling for snow every day for the week, we'll see if that prophecy comes to pass. Just in case, and since we'll be in the valley for Christmas and won't be here to keep up with it, I remounted the plow on the Ridge and plowed out what we had left on the ground. I noticed when we went to the Post Office yesterday morning that the snow was getting deeper as we went up our 1/2-mile lane to Highway 97. From 0 in front of the barn to about 3" from the gate to the cattle guard and game fence. The Kawasaki 72" snowplow with the electric over hydraulic actuator worked like a charm. There wasn't a whole lot of snow, so I don't want to get overconfident considering my experience with the 2 Warn Industries plows, but considering the number of trips from the corning or the house to the cattle guard and back plus the sidewalks, it covered a few miles and not one spring, one bolt, any piece of the frame, mounts or push tubes were lost, bent, broken or otherwise damaged. I like it. On both Warn's one or more of those things happened on the first pass.
Good Christmas Eve morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 44* now. Temp has been up and down since 0600. Here at Alpha it is still 3* less than it was 4 hours ago. Overcast with scattered showers so far with 3 mph wind despite the high wind warning we’re under.
Up at Bravo the cameras are showing mixed rain and snow at 37* with rain winning. A lot of the blanket of snow has been washed away.
Santa made a front porch delivery of the Wardens Christmas an hour or so ago but didn’t wrap them so I have to get them wrapped before she gets a peek.
