Looks like my truck is in production! I wasn't expecting movement until next week and there is no window sticker available on my vin yet. The excitement after the initial order is starting to come back!
Do yourself a favor and hold back the excitement. From what I've been seeing it usually goes into production status for a few days the week before the scheduled build week. In that time the window sticker becomes available and they setup your truck to to be built. Call it programming, part allocation, set blend date, or whatever. Issue is it can still slip or get pushed off if parts are not available as it was the case with my vehicle (to 5/5 and then back to 3/17 from 2/24). My guess your truck will physically go into production next week if things all align (which in most cases it does). A good check is to see if your as-built data is available. If so then its likely being built or already built. Good luck!!!!!!!!

It's progress, hence the excitement and I won't let you dampen it.
LMAO - All good! Hope all goes well and we get our trucks soon.
EDIT: Talk about damping excitement I randomly checked my dealer's website and my truck just showed up in their inventory as 'in stock'. Talk about a tease. HAHA

A check of my As Built files for my F550 (that has been "In Production" for 12 days) shows:
Tear Tag
Vehicle Data 3100 FFFF FF2E
Module Information Found
When prompted, be sure to save or copy the file to the following IDS directory:
c:\Program Files\Ford Motor Company\Calibration Files
PCM Modules
BCE Modules
So what does that all mean? Is it any closer to being built?

Type in a vin of a vehicle that is built or sitting on a lot at your local dealer. You will see a lot of data under BCE (body module). If there is data it means the module was programmed and ready for installation to a vehicle, or already installed. If no data is available, which seems to be your case, the truck is most likely not built as the module has not been programmed for your vehicle yet.
FYI, I just got a note from Ford that my order placed on 2/22 is being held up by the 5th wheel prep package.
looks like that is still an issue.
Thankfully I'm not in a rush for mine. Hopefully they sort that issue out. I'd rather pay the $650 for the OEM system and another $1k-1300 for a hitch, than have to spend $1700+ installation (which will likely be another $500+) for the B&W turnover/companion system, because I want an unobstructed bed.

At least he got info! Took me 4 months before my rep could get any info out of Ford on the hold up. According to the factory rep the fifth wheel prep packages did not really start becoming available until Feb for the 25’s. My truck was ordered in October and I now have a (tentative) 3/31 date. But that may mean they have a backlog in front of any new orders, assuming it is only that option holding up a truck.
And BTW, eTrailer sells a Curt 24,000lb fifth wheel hitch for the Ford puck system for under $1,000, a little more for the sliding option. Might even be cheaper elsewhere. Love mine, use it in my 2018 and trailer hooks up with ease. A call with the Curt factory rep confirmed it will still fit. Ford makes it sound like only their hitch option will fit. So make sure the hitch isn’t the hold up too. You can delete that up until it goes into production.
Ordered 10/1/24, 2/25/25 Made it into "Shipped". ETA March 8. Took over 4 monthes . Hang in there.
I ordered the same day as you, no word yet on a vin or production date. So consider me jealous. I reached out to the dealer yesterday to see if they could chase down any information on when platinum plus trucks were going to start coming off the line.

Oh I had no plans to buy the Ford branded hitch. It's up in the air on what I am going to get, whether it be Curt, Reese, or B&W. I'm not going to bother pulling the trigger on that until the truck says shipped, and even then I might buy used if it's in good condition.
I figured that Ford hadn't changed the attachment configuration - just probably a 'new' part number for the assembly plant for the next model year with no physical changes.

That's more than what most people get from their dealer or rep. I've heard this being talked about a few times so might have some truth.
I'm somewhat surprised though as the hitch should not have changed as I don't believe any frame changes were made. The package includes more than just the physical hitch so maybe a change in the wiring harness? Who knows.

I'm guessing it's a quality issue with them that the vendor isn't fixing properly. I know there was a slew of 2024's where one of the 'pucks' was slightly off location and some hitches wouldn't fit properly (required some grinding on the hitch to make it fit). I would have thought the issue would have been resolved by now but perhaps it isn't.
So I’m biding my time driving my 8 year old Audi hoping that nothing major goes wrong since repairs are stupidly expensive ($8k radiator replacement as an example but luckily extended warranty paid out).
what are the trade offs in getting a non ford system like the B&W systems? Other than the extra $500 in install costs are they better? Worse? Is the wiring in place or would that have to be taken care of additionally?
I can wait a few months but I feel that 6 months may be pushing my luck.
P.S. I don’t care if you win the lotto or have millions of dollars to **** away…. NEVER GET AN AUDI!! They drive fantastic but there is so much bull**** to put up with it’s not worth the hassle or expense. You can do so much better elsewhere.

.
Not sure what you are asking. B&W is a hitch manufacturer. Nothing to do with wiring.
I happen to believe they make the best standard Fifth Wheel Hitch, and would use nothing else. I am not impressed with Ford/Reese hitches.
In addition, I would not install an aftermarket hitch prep kit, simply because it is a pain in the *** having participated in the install. OEM pucks sure are nice (when they are installed correctly and a quality OEM part...)
