Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 28, clear with high overcast to the west.
River is up with snow melt. Another inch or so it will start filling the run off channels. One channel does have water in it. It hasn’t connected with the river yet so it is either melt from right here or an underground connection to the river.

Run off channel, not connecting with river yet unless it is underground

Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else.
Drove into Bend today and ordered a snowblower. Now I suppose it won’t snow for the rest of the season.

Hi Jim, What did you order? I ordered my Honda in the late winter of 2022 thinking that it wouldn't come in until like September or October of 2023. Nope, I got a call about a month later the blower was in and ready to be picked up. I used it once in 2022 and didn't really need to, I've used it twice this year and really only needed to once. I'm thinking next winter will be different.

Cell trail camera alarm just went off. Seems we have a cougar in the meadow below the front yard.

I decided on the big tracked machine with a motor bigger than my first street bike and heated hand grips like my last couple of police bikes.
But I do have a lot of area here around the buildings, a dirt driveway that may or may not need it and just over a half mile of driveway. Plus I got 10% discount plus some kind of credit card shopper rewards credit that I didn’t know about.
Supposed to be delivered on Feb 13, but if it doesn’t come early, I’ll have to change that date as I realized after we got home I have a can’t miss appointment in the valley that day.
I might possibly get to use it this year.

Morning all, and good night Jim.

I have not had to use one of those since I left Alaska.

Good Tuesday morning Andy and....

Snow removal? Thats one of the reasons I live on the Coast, we get very little and it's usually gone in a day.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 29 and overcast. Weather alert for high winds beginning around 2200 tonight. Went down to Gilchrist this morning for coffee and donuts.

Cougar hung around down in the meadow for about a half hour last night. This morning at 0532 we had a bobcat setting off the blink camera on the NW deck/porch.

Sometimes I wonder about Alaska….when we saw this place for the very first time on March 2, 2023, it was blanketed in snow. The conversation went something like…

SHE said, “when the snow comes we can just go to Sheridan and come back up after it melts”.
SHE said, “It”ll be fun she said”
SHE said, “Isn’t it pretty?”
SHE said, “It’s a different kind of cold, it’s not bad really”
SHE said, “Nothing like it was in Eastern Idaho on the ranch”
SHE said, “How long will it take to shovel the sidewalks off?”
SHE said, “There’s a big drift in front of the pole barn, are you getting rid of it so we can get to the car?”
SHE said, “How long are we staying here? (Sheridan) When are we going to go back?”
SHE said SHE said SHE said SHE said….

WELL, we’re here and when it comes to snow removal she’s in the house, in front of the fire, taking pictures through the windows.
