Interesting show at the house across the road yesterday afternoon and early evening. The City is changing out all of the water meters in town with new digital electronic meters that can be remotely monitored. They all have a cute little 2" +/- Antanae on them. Ours got changed out day before yesterday. It was really quick - took the fellow about 10 minutes from start to finish.
Apparently, it didn't go so well at the neighbors across the street. The contractor doing the work had to bring a pumper truck in with a 4" suction hose. They spent quite some time with the hose under the house and then in the water meter hole. Not sure what all was going on, but when they pulled the meter lid and top framework off, there was quite the little geyser until they got that suction hose over the top of it and then started working in the hole.
