Ooo, 1250 miles, that's a haul. Oil logs won't be the only thing tested if the whole family is along for the ride. Vaya con Dios friend.
My wife and kids travel pretty well, we were able to knock down 900 miles today. Would have been further but I blew off an intercooler boot at 4:30am, fixed it and went on. Then around Macon, GA another boot blew off at full song, reinstalled it, blew off again within 5 miles. Luckily we were 15 minutes south of Summit Racing! So we swung in and bought a half dozen T-bolt clamps to double clamp a few of the boots.
At this point I realized my S363 (bought used, never rebuilt) was blowing a good amount of oil out of the outlet via the oil seal (ccv is rerouted). Absolutely covering the boots and pipes with hot oil when the boots came off. Boots held for a while and then let loose again coming up the backside of Jellico. Got them clamped so hard they cut into my RR boots and ovalized the Intercooler pipe.
As for the oil logs, ICP still plummets. That being said my truck is down on power and has been having some wacky boost/ebp ratios. EBP will have 10psi on boost psi (at relatively low pressure) and boost is real slow to climb and struggles to hit 30psi. This has nothing to do with the oil logs as I have been battling this for a while. EGTs are low but a few of the grades I have pulled in 4th I had to downshift on this time. Truck has been driven hard with minimal work for quite a while, think it is time to dig into it and freshen things up. Starting to plan on what upgrades will come next. Turbo, hpop, fuel, and likely injectors.
Sorry to hear about your troubles, but at least everyone is safe. I have buzzed down to that Summit Racing location a couple of times to get something sorted out in short order.
What are your thoughts on the turbo upgrades? I am curious to know after all of these miles towing in the turbo you have where you might end up.

Thinking about a .83 Wastegated housing with a mechanical actuator set around 40-45psi. AD/30 injectors (so I can keep my transmission tuning) a stage 2 hpop and 4 line feed. Should net a solid 340hp.

Dang, how many hours did you clock behind the wheel? Even 14 hrs is nearly 65 mph average. W/ breakdowns, traffic and normal road trip stops you had to put in like 20 hrs or something. Either that or you were flat flying. Run Bandit run.

Thats getting dangerous.
My longest "shift" has been 24hrs.
In Finland pro drivers are limited to 8hrs max driving time per day.
No doubt! We travel with another rig as well, we are a rowdy bunch.
My F350 BARELY made it home to Michigan. About 40 miles out a vibration started which soon turned to a grinding munching sound. When I turned onto my road the entire truck was vibrating. Time for a build thread, it's been put away wet a few times.

Too bad there is not a superior replacement for those.
thanks for trying out the oil rail logs. Good or bad, I appreciate hearing from someone who has actually use them. Glad you made it home safe. Sounds like you have a little work ahead of you.
Got around 8k miles on the truck since I have installed the oil logs. So far no negative effects from them. Truck runs really good and hasn’t popped a P1211 in a longgg time. Would be interesting if they sold more of these to hear what others have to say.
