I've got an ICP gauge installed and easy to read. Going to be pretty simple with it all. Record a handful of runs without them, install them and then do the same. Right now it sustains ICP pretty well until you go deep into the throttle. It will drop to between 21-2200psi. Sometimes it trips a CEL, other times it doesn't. I went back and forth between an aftermarket HPOP and this part. My main decision was based on a few things. The truck runs well, no oil leaks, no fuel leaks, starts good, etc etc. So IMO there is no reason to go into the motor and start messing with things. This installs easy in 45 minutes. Worth a shot, if it works, great. The goal (per FFD and the thread I posted) to gain 2-400psi at WOT. I have my doubts.
This will be interesting to see the results. I am skeptical, but as I understand it you are looking for higher ICP at certain points or perhaps you are looking to get rid of the CEL so it doesn't become common place to see the CEL.
I'm like you in the respect that my injectors and HPOP are tired which raises my PW on the injectors and the ICP drops a bit, but the truck still hauls the mail up a grade in the mountains of WY. So... I am taking the "don't mess with it until it needs to be messed with approach". If I had a CEL popping up each time I was ascending a grade I would be on the same warpath you are.
If only someone would invent an economical home dyno system for us average Joe shade tree types.
I've got my "Trailer Dyno" that gives me a pretty good idea whether or not I lost some power or gained some. I would say the weakest part of my setup is when I have to run 28-2900rpm+ sustained. Power kind of falls off and EGTs go up.
