Good to know, Thanks Stu.

I now have 5 leads instead of just one.

One more last question, should i grind or torch off the rivets that hold on the rim center piece?

If you intend to build your own using your WM centers with donated 22.5” rims harvested from some other bolt pattern originals or Daytons you’ll probably be working with rims that are wider than your WM originals. Yes, you can attach your discs along the drop centers of the new rims. They should fit cleanly. Balance any width differences front vs rear and I’d think you’d be okay. Don’t go too big so as not to rub the front fender wells and inner fenders.

Grind or torch is your choice. Stu

Bad Chad did an episode of welding up a set of wheels for his '48-50 car hauler. He bought wheels out of a local junkyard. Another reason to check him out.

Chad's approach is, um, ah, interesting, and not sure how concentric he got his centers. Well scrutinized here: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ck-wheels.html

If I had to do this the way I'd do them is mark where I need to weld them and just tack weld them in and install each on on the front axle of the truck and place some kind of reference marker, like a dial indicator, and spin the rim to see how true the rim is.

Personally I would never consider a modification of this nature, not that it can't be done, and done well, but you are taking on legal liability if anything happens on the road. If you were to get into an accident, the lawyers would have a field day....just my 2 cents.

Well a grinder and paint makes me the welder i aint.

JK im a very good welder but i will hide the welds so it looks factory.

And if i crash i am going to die anway. so the law cant get me then.

You'll be gone, but the law will get anyone tied to you (if you injure anyone), so think long and hard before you do it.

if it looks factory then the textbook experts wont suspect a thing since the welds will be ground flat, also this truck lives on the backroads and has gone into town 3 times in the year ive owned it.

i understand your concern but this is my only viable option for rims.
