I did all those things and had fuel pump failure in my driveway at 17,242 on the odometer. Two different labs tested my fuel, each with the same result: only diesel in the sample.
I know the 20s plus have more fuel pressure than us 11 to 16 guys (29k PSI). Not sure about the 17 to 19 guys. I do remember hearing that the 15 CP4.2 was modified for more flow for more power from the 11 to 14s.

what fuel lube did you use , how often, what concentration?
I had another shop pull the regulator. The picture proves that no metal is present, however the dealer mechanic says that the tiny speck of something is proof that my fuel system is failing and I will keep loosing injectors.
So yeah, CP4 is still a problem and now so are those 2020+ 10 speed transmissions. Way too many failures on those compared to the old 6R140. Hate to say it but Cummins/Aisin is probably the way to go as long as it ain’t a 19 or 20 with the CP4. (They recalled them all and will fix it for free though) Yeah they're built in Mexico which don’t sit right but that would be my final 2 cents on the matter.

As is the 6.7L PowerStroke diesel engine.. So where do we win?

By going with your gut feeling and if it turns out to be right, you will know you made the best choice you could with the given knowledge. If it turns out to be wrong, you will know you made the best choice you could with the given knowledge.
Also, keeping in mind everything designed or built by humans can and will fail at some point.

A remote chance of a cp4 failure or a guaranteed failure of front ujoints and wheel bearings.
A chance of a transmission failure or a known issue with ball joints.
I like my chances with Ford.
We have a Cummins with 100k and change and it has gotten several sets of ujoints already and a set of balljoints
I have no desire to have one.
Sure the in-line six engine sounds like all diesels should, but I like how smooth and quiet my truck is.

Ford probably uses better components with all that stuff and none of them make a perfect truck. That stuff wouldn't worry me like the kind of poop storm a CP4 gone bad will cause or like what happened to ole' girl here and some of the comments are interesting also:

I wouldn't buy a Dodge vehicle if it was the only vehicle on the lot. I usually buy Toyota, Mazda, or Honda in that order and would have if any of them made a full size diesel truck.

Strange how this works……I can go on a RAM or GM forum and read the same thing about Ford!!!
As far as the nipponese brands go, my experience is that they pay rags like consumer reports more. Had one turdota and pushed it off a cliff.
Absolutely. I use XL (purple) for most of the year and Winter (blue) during the really cold months.
Don't see any claims it prevent's CP4 failures. Is the presumption improved lubricity prevents catastrophic failure? I can see it extending the life span for a normal operating pump, but not preventing the roller lifter from rotating and causing catastrophic failure. Curious to what your logic is.
