I don't think it's a programming issue as much as it is the difference in HP/TQ available to you. The Powerstroke has gobs of low-end torque and being able to access every bit of it versus the computer rationing it to you, the harder you press the pedal is pretty impressive! My truck feels like a totally different truck now and I couldn't imagine how it'd run if it were deleted and had a tune on it.
That may be part of it, the diesel is an incredible powerplant. That being said, in my truck with the 6.2l, you mash the pedal and it waits a beat before responding at all. The downshift and engine response are noticeably delayed. It doesn't matter how much TQ/HP it has if the PCM doesn't respond immediately. I'm not griping at you, just comparing notes.

It's all good. Mine was like that prior to the controller. That delay is gone now UNLESS you put it in Economy 9 mode! Then it feels like there's no response, at all!
I recently bought the SOLER unit and installed it in my 2019 6.2L gasser.
The unit does exactly what it claims to do, changes the throttle signal ramp based on pedal position.
What it does not do is eliminate the delay when you step on the accelerator pedal. It still has the delay before downshifting and applying power. This is what I was hoping would be eliminated or at least reduced. I suppose to truly eliminate that throttle delay will require getting a tune for the PCM.
I'm certainly not bashing the SOLER unit, it does what it claims to do. I think I had unreasonable expectations for it.
Since I read this post a few days ago I’ve been driving my 7.3 gasser with the lazy 3.55 gears at 5k plus elevation trying to detect what the post describes.
Even with it set at the mild “Sport 2” setting it reacts instantly at any speed, up hill, into the wind or from a dead stop.
I have now had my Soler in for a week. I do like it. I set it to comfort 8 on Tuesday (fun). I tested it on economy 8 on Wednesday. Don't do that. It makes the hesitation much worse. I believe the comfort
3 or 4 is the most serviceable setting. Anything higher and you smile too much. I did a test from a stop with a lot of pedal and it still had a hesitation as the ecm tried to decide what I was doing. This is my
3rd vehicle with fly by wire and the only one that has the dead spot. (come on Ford, fix this) The Soler does make the driving experience better.
Installed the Soler Throttle Controller ..Today... 2022 F350 ..7.3 ..and what a Difference....like night and day...!!...Comfort 5...for all day driving...Sport 4... for ****s and giggles..
Had a Pedal Commander in my 2015 Chevy 2500. 6.0...and it was ok...but this thing is 10 times better....!!
