Saw an ad for a new item from hyperteck and another outfit that supposedly cures the throttle lag found in new vehicles. Just wondering if anyone has heard of or tried one? I have 12 model rv and it has dead throttle in many situations and just seems to need better throttle control. Am running a 5 star rv tune which helped some with controlling the high rpm surges. Would be very interested in any observations.
Your description sounds like the device Pedal Commander markets. I very nearly purchased one for my wife Honda Pilot that had what I considered to be EXTREMELY laggy throttle response. I sold the Pilot before we ever installed such a unit. Plenty of favorable reviews on it, though.

Looking at their website, they don't sell them for all Fords- I can't get one for an 04.
Yes I looked for them on amazon and they indicated that it wont work on the rv or the F350 diesel. So I sent a email asking if it would. Will let all know if I get a response.
That's because an '04 has a real throttle cable, not fly-by-wire
5-star should be able to do just about anything throttle-response-wise. Contact them about it.
Really? I didn't think it did. in an email from 5 Star, I thought that I understood (which is probably where the fallacy is happening) that a 5 Star programmer would primarily benefit me in throttle response (since my truck is a manual, no improvement to transmission management).

"throttle response" is a loaded question. Play with spark advance, and you can get a throttle-cable vehicle to act a lot better than stock. But with fly-by-wire, they can remap everything and make it a beast compared to stock.
In my Taurus SHO, "sport" mode throttle response is crazy compared to regular "Drive". With a tune, even Drive can be ridiculous.
Got a reply from the company already. They indicated the React 101300 would work. Only issue, it is a performance item and I want it for the RV and its tow so I asked and am waiting to hear if the 102300 would be a better choice? This is for a 2012 (2011) winnebago rv. It has a lot of dead pedal when we use it. Seems to be pedal to the floor with no help or goes from 3500 to 5000 rpm when you add just a little throttle!
I have already changed the TPS and no difference. Seems that it is a issue with some of the 6.8s IDK. I do know its a PIA to travel at times because you cant smoothly accell or control the rpms. We came up on I25 last summer, some head wind and some long pulls, no response to throttle inputs and downshifts. Downshift would let rpms go crazy and still no power. So hope one of these would be useful??
You can change throttle response a few ways, #1 most aggressive way for drive-by-cable is a bigger throttle body, It will let more air in with less pedal input and make the vehicle feel a lot more aggressive.
For drive-by-wire is tuning by just changing the sensor parameters but it can be tricky since it can cause a high idle but that's what most "throttle response improvers do"
So the computer is set to run in an engine load vs throttle input parameter, they can change that and make it so if the computer is seeing (X) amount of engine load it will open the throttle (X) amount.
here is an update from XDP:XD300 is listed to work with all engines in the 250/350/450/550 for the 2012 year which would include the 6.8L V10. You’d just have to confirm that the Winnebago also uses the Ford pedal, and throttle connections.
