Your one year newer than me, same powertrain setup. My truck does not feel lazy or sluggish at all, it's right there when I want it. The only problem I have is some times from a stop or under say 5 mph if you mash it you can't count on it. I think I am so used to the wire system it has become instinct to pedal the throttle if I have to pull out quick. I could be wrong but I can remember that back to my 89 truck and all until then. You sure are a supporter of this brand. I have no experience with external software plugins controlling the signal for the throttle. It's pretty cheap money and painless. Sounds like a raging review of Soler Performance, thanks. My quick look at OBD port plug in is it does give the software a lot of data that could help, and a separate power supply rather than powered by the throttle circuits power.
Anyhow thanks to your good article and illustrations I will research Banks and Soler and get one because that lag and pedaling from stop sucks. Now come on...... Mike cut you a check.......right.
My lack of throttle response may just be due to the altitude here, 5k-8.5k ft elevation.
No check, no skin in the game.
As I mentioned I have had ones of these on my corvette for over three years. Didn’t like my trucks throttle response so much that I consider selling it and getting the same truck again but with the 4.3 gears or the Chevy 2500 gas.
So I read a few threads that recommended the banks and the pedal commander. I thought those are expensive and I don’t like the look or where they plug in.
So I thought let me check out Soler’s website. That no one here has mentioned. Sure enough Soler has one cheap. My and everyone else experience with Soler from the corvette forum has been excellent.
So I get it one hour later truck drives great, finally fall in love with it and post here. No need to sell this truck now, get a divorce over it and order a new truck.
i have no experience with soler, but have bought and used a pedal commander first, then a pedal monster.
so i am familiar with both. pricewise they are about the same.
on the pedal commander i usually had it on sport 3. I did try some of the other settings, and tried them while in motion as well as static, and did not have any problems, now i did not go all the way maximum and back, i found what i liked and set it there.
i did see some you tube videos of it causing a dead peadal, and most of those seemed due to lots of changes while in motion,.
it did what it said it would, as a throttle controller., raise the response all the time, both in forward and reverse. backing up was a bit more touchy..
i had it installed first, then installed with a banks derringer, and ran it for a while.
after the pedal monster had been out a while, and since i already had the derringer, i got one, this was after using the pedal commander for over 8 or 9 months..
the pedal monster i prefer mainly for the following features.
in reverse it defaults to stock mode, it makes it easier to back up to trailers and out of parking spots.
the low speed tip in response below 10 mph or so is a feature i like when making small adjustments and moving trailers,
the obd cable is a non issue as the derringer already uses it anyway, so having the power come from obd instead of throttle circuit is a plus for me.
ive used it both with the idash as well as the bluetooth app. vehicle can be in motion with idash, but stopped for bluetooth.
after using the pedal monster on my truck, i ended up getting another for a 07 yukon that is bluetooth.
but it is nice to see that there are other options for throtthe controllers. and diffrent features between them.
more choices are better. thanks for posting about soler.
I have the Banks and have been very happy with it. You can't see any wires unless you're laying on your back looking up under the dash area. Banks has been around awhile and is a very trusted name in the industry is one of the reasons I went with it. The fact that it reverts back to stock when in reverse and the pedal will still work if the pedal circuit loses power was even more reason to buy. I hope you like the soler and don't have any problems out of it. But as others have already mentioned, your post are very defensive and honestly uncalled for. You sound like a real friendly fella to be around. Honestly, I think the only things we would agree on is super duties rock.
I have actually had the Banks in my list of future mods. Like the history of the established company and the fact that reverse is left at normal. But, for the price I wi give this a shot. Website lists a 30 day return, so if I don't like it, will unplug it and send it back. What I was really hoping for since the 7.3 has been out longer, was for Superchips to have an update for my flashpack that I still have from my 150. I used that primarily to disable the stupid auto start/stop feature and the tune for regular pump gas also helped with pedal lag some.
I have the Banks on my 22 7.3/4.30 truck. Huge improvement, It really makes these drive by wire vehicles fun to drive again.
I met Mr Banks 19 yrs ago when I took my new 7.3 diesel in for the works. Great guy, crazy smart and I feel a lot better buying their product knowing it's getting power from a better source and they've made it fail safe. I've had many banks products over the years and they don't half *** anything.
I've had the Pedal Commander and I'm now using the Banks Pedal Monster. Huge improvement to the drivability of my 2021 F250 7.3. Would I do it all over again? You bet!
Simple install following the instructions. I know these pedal controllers don’t add more power, but let you have better access to the power that’s already there and on Sport 3, my ‘17 F250 with the 6.7 Powerstroke is a whole lot peppier than I ever felt it. I barely touch the pedal and it rips it. I’ll give more updates as I use it more.

Glad to hear. Mine should be here Monday and, depending on the weather, will install after work. Truck doesn't fit in garage, so carport it is and it is supposed to snow some more.

Life is good! Simple
Win all the way around. I don't want anything in the OBD port either. It is easy to tap thou to gain info. Thanks for the article
