I queried my dealer about a Limited that was showing as being there. It WAS a green Special Order window sticker, and I asked them if it was a cancellation that finally made it there. But it wasn’t.
My truck was shipped to NY on 11/29. Still waiting. Estimated delivery window ends tomorrow. Delivery is just another possible disaster. I have had at least 5 or 6 week delays along the way. Truck was sent to factory on 11/1.
So far just one delay for me. They moved build week from 11/29 to 12/6 but they did actually build the truck during that week.
No idea how to track the shipping and I guess I'm not really that interested in it at this point.
Seems a little strange for a dealer to put someone’s vehicle on their website. Especially when I already have a deposit down on that vehicle
There was a thread about this a while back. It went on for days with people panicking that the dealership was going to sell their truck to someone else. Turns out that incoming trucks are all automatically populated on dealership websites, but they're not trying to sell them to anyone else. Look at any dealers website now and pretty much all of the trucks listed, if you look at the window sticker, are special orders.

Here is the message I got from one of the Ford employees from BOF forum:

So I am still completely in the dark. As-Built is still blank. Ford builds you up just to knock you down, over and over.
Codeman checked my VIN this morning and although mine was partially built on 12/8 it's now parked for chip hold. Great...
Ordered 11/1, confirmed 11/1, 11/18 scheduled for build on week of 12/6. F250 CCLB 4x4 XL STX
Anyone have a recent build that was held up for no chip? Are all that get hung up for this (recently) getting a chip quickly or should I expect months additional wait? Why did it get scheduled if there was no chip? Aren't there PLENTY of trucks that have been sitting with no chip for months?
So it looks like it was built on Sat? Dealer said "Sent Offsite" usually means being shipped but you'd think it would actually say shipped.
No emails from Ford and FordPass still can't find the VIN.

Mine was built 11/24 and still on hold for a "chip"..
And for those wondering - mine is partially built without a chip on 12/8 - and I WAS able to add it to Ford Pass & I get BCM but no PCM data when looking at Asbuilt.

I'm on hold for a chip issue from 11/26. I asked a similar question on BOF, received a condescending reply from a moderator, and was told (by a different moderator) that the question had been answered many times if I would only take the time to look (I had looked, the answer isn't to be found). Ultimately, I was told that it is not common for a vehicle to start production without all parts available, but it can happen, and they try to move those trucks to completion as quickly as possible.

Sent offsite I believe can also mean that it's been sent to a vendor for things the factory doesn't do like wheel well liners, spray in bed liners, etc.

I don't know what the current situation is. But the other day I linked to a story about all of the trucks that were parked at the Kentucky Motor Speedway being cleared out. I believe that was back in September.
