I just took delivery on '24 F250 Lariat CC 7'bed (they call this a standard bed here in the northeast, to you is this a short bed?)
I have the plow prep, max cargo, max tow, 5th wheel prep and aux power packages. I am not plowing at least initially.
I am looking at installing the RH Legend - sounds like I should have it painted right out of the box.
A couple of questions on this -
- looks like cameras will be at least partially obstructed. I get a little snow/spooge on my cameras and I lose my adaptive cruise, parking assist. I wish I could just continue to use the cruise without the "adaptive" part..very frustrating. Does anyone have other systemic issues as a result of this camera obstruction by the Legend bumper (I would say, in addition to snow issues, but you dont get those in the SW US) ?
- how "deep" does the 2" receiver tube go? I plan to use bike racks but am concerned they won't slide in far enough.
- I'm presuming the light duty plows designed for use in a 2" reciver won't work here, these are too high off the ground even without a lift kit. I'm not looking to plow parking lots, just my driveway. Again in the SW US prob not much experience with this lol. Has anyone come across a light-duty plowing solution with one of these bumpers installed? I'm not optimistic but thought I'd ask.
- this is primarily a deer-catcher for me, and as noted a bike rack mount for when I'm trailering. A winch might be a consideration but I'm told this isn't possible with the receiver hitch. However I think I saw someone did it above....but wiht the license plate on there I couldnt see if there was a receiver hitch there also.
You can go with a full Ranch Hand that has a winch plate already installed on it if that is what you would like. The front camera is a bit blocked off and in the 360 view, the front will show some of the bumper. The receiver tube is open all the way through so you can theoretically put something in there until you hit the radiator, about 16 inches or so. My adaptive cruise still works fine with the model of bumper I selected.
cool, thank you!
a dealer I spoke with yesterday said the Legend Sport model has the winch plate, not sure if that existed when you got yours.
Unfortunately they won't paint them either. I like the ruff-cote paint one user used here.
I think there are some clear vinyl products that may be usable for this to help prevent corrsion here in the great white north.
Will do some digging.
cool, thank you!

Before you mount it, take it to a place that does Line X or Rhino and get it sprayed. Also, pay extra for the UV stuff so it won’t fade as quickly. Generally, Line X has a rougher texture than Rhino if that makes a difference for you. Having it sprayed will run you another 600-700 dollars give or take but it’s well worth it if you plan on keeping it for some time.
cool, thank you!

Done in 2019, still looking great in 2024, two deer “bumped” and still like new. These pics 2024.
I ordered the ranch hand legend sport and found a guy locally that does line-x. The place I ordered it through who's also doing the install after I have it painted (Casullos) gave me a lot of crap about how the paint voids my warranty with ranch hand and also affects the fitment and that if they can't get it to install due to the change in fitment, then I'm stuck with it.
The guys doing the painting couldn't believe that when I told them that, they've done many of them and never had an issue.
So now Casullos has me over a barrel and they can charge me extra for Fitment issues...I was cool with them but firm, although I won't have any leverage if they decide to screw me over.
Just don't get the brackets Line-x'd. They're never seen after installing anyhow, so just shoot a good rustproof flat black on them, and that shouldn't add a thick layer of material that might hinder installation...
I have a 2022 F350 diesel with the 5200 lb front springs. I'd like to upgrade to the 6000 lb springs and put a heavy duty front bumper and grill guard. While changing out the springs, I'll likely go ahead and change out the shocks. So my question is will the spring replacement, bumper install, etc result in needing an alignment or adversely impact tire wear? If so, how does one mitigate any detrimental effects?

I ordered the springs from my dealer, they installed them, and the new shocks I gave them, alignment was good when they checked, but they did center my steering wheel for me, was a touch off. ( joys of a small town ford dealership, great service.)
No difference in tire wire, but I do have a PMF dual steering stabilizer on my truck since 25,000 miles. Currently 70,000.

My line x guy did a superb job, basically what you said while allowing the install guys to install without issue.
I did have to shell out an additional two hundred dollars for all of the sensor/camera/CC re-calibration upfront.. I know that's an expensive piece of equipment they use to perform that calibration. So I understand they have to recoup some of that expense. But I thought they would have included that in the original quote. Everything has worked extremely well with no false triggering.
Since I had ordered the plow prep package on this truck I feel the added weight allows it to ride exactly where it should. Unfortunately, I won't be able to put a plow on it like this. But that was really a backup plan anyway since I plow with my tractor. Obviously not critical however, if. anyone knows of a solution that would allow plowing in this configuration please pass it. on. The receiver hitch plows. I've seen would not appear to work as the hitch is just too high..
Uploading some pics. Thanks for all your help and insight!
