I have a 2004 ford f350 6.0l. When this virus crap started the truck was running fine, so I parked it and did not drive it much. I would start it occasionally and let it idle a while.
Decided to drive it the other day got in and and the batteries were too low to start the truck so I hooked the f250 to it and it started easily. When I put it in gear it would die I started it a few times and every time I would try a gear it would die. I tried giving it fuel but could not get many rpms. It finally went in to a forward gear but could not get enough rpms to move truck. I pulled it up to shop and it would ease forward but would not move in reverse.
I hooked it to the AE I have and it showed all kinds of codes. I changed the ecm and got the same codes now I cannot get the AE to connect to truck.
I thought maybe a squirrel had chewed some wires, but I have ran all the wires down and can find no damage.
Any one ever have this to happen and any suggestions on where to start? It still starts easy but no rpms or gears.
Put a charger on the batteries, get them load tested. Best to start troubleshooting without having a known issue like bad batteries.
Attempting to drive with low voltage will quickly wreck expensive components.
In your other thread, you posted that you got a B1342 code. You need to know which module reported the code. It means an internal module failure and it could be set by the following modules: 4X4 Control Module, ABS Module, HVAC Module, Instrument Cluster, Parking Aid Module, Restraints Control Module, Trailer Brake Control Module and the Vehicle Security Module.
That information should be reported by AE. I know it is by ForScan - you might try downloading it and seeing if it (ForScan) can connect. Also let us know if the OBDII port has been confirmed to having power.

ForScan Lite and a BAFX adapter is about $35.
Please post up the codes and the module that is throwing them when you get a working scan tool.
Mark I got the forscan program but I cannot get it to install. The program downloaded without the install app. Cannot find a support team for the forscan to try to find out why it will not install.
Are you talking laptop or cellphone? Sounds like laptop. What operating system are you using. Not sure if it does real well with OS . I have win10. Jade no problem. The install program was included.
Now Forscan Lite on your cell will do great on any phone.
let me fire up the laptop and see what files I have.
I am trying to put it on a laptop, but am downloading it on desktop with win 10. I shut the lap top off of internet, I had a good win 7 installed on it and forgot and left it on one night and the next morning I had wind 10 installed after I had refused the update multiple times.
All the programs I had was for win 7 and would not work with 10. So I am trying to save it to a flash drive and transfer it to the shop laptop.
I finally got the AE program working and it said tcm trouble. Not sure where it is but think it is with the pcm and I think it is the connector closer to the firewall.
While I was running the program I decided to change the pcm (I have a spare) when I went to un-hook the connectors the pcm was really hot. Changed it to the other one and the same thing it got hot in a hurry. I think I have a short somewhere between the pcm and trannie.
I cannot find anything on where the wires run but if it is the one I think it is I can run the wire down.
Now the question does anyone know for sure I am working on the right connector to the pcm?
