Well its been awhile since I updated this thread. I've been pretty busy between school and my job and helping my grandmother in law find a home out here in CO for those who know LOL.

My 4x4 lockouts were leaking so I decided to upgrade them. What is interesting is someone was definitely in here before me and swapped out the Dana 50/60 spindle nuts with sterling spindle nuts. It's rare to find something done right by a PO lol.

Here are before and after pics. If you're going to install these the D60 part number for the 30 spline axles will fit the D50 TTB as the D50 TTB and D60 solid axle share the same spindles and hubs within the 92-97. You'll definitely want a helper as you'll have to compress a heavy spring and then put in both snap rings.

Looks nice. Have you looked at getting those beauty cover for the center? They sit under the lugs and kind of cover the middle bit, except for the lock out.

it didnt even cross my mind until Eric brought them up earlier. So potentially I'll look at getting them for the front.

Does anyone have pics of the rear hub covers for the stock alcoas?

Not the best pic, but if you zoom WAY in you can see them. I guess I never took any better pics with them in it.

They had a stamped steel bracket that went under the lugs and then had 2 screws that held the cover onto that bracket. Completely covering the hub...heck maybe even the lugs too 🤔

I sent them to Eric, maybe he has better pics lol

Eric is a turd so I doubt he will respond to this thread. He's too busy doing 4.9 stuff and getting that 97 ready for sale.

Well these hubs have foiled me twice now. First I was sent the kit without the spacers needed and hubs would not unlock. Now I received spacers but they're too thick and for the 99-04 hubs and I can't fit the axle snap ring on it.

Can't catch a break with these hubs apparently so it's going to be a beer drinking weekend.

On the bright side Yukon support and Randy's ring and pinion have been awesome with support even though I ordered through JBG.

Got on the horn with Randy's this morning and Tate hooked me up with the correct part so I should see that either Tuesday or Wednesday.

FYI for anyone buying Yukon stuff. Due to supply chain issues they were struggling for parts so they basically got everything at once. Their warehouse folks are doing double shifts to get inventory out of the door, so whoever wants or needs Yukon stuff shouldn't have to worry about waiting forever or their part being back ordered.

Ha! Thought incase the only one that got shafted every time I tried to do a project.

I remember getting 2 or 3 different hub lock outs before realizing I had SD knuckles. Luckily my local store had mist of them all in stock or overnight.

Glad to hear you're getting it sorted. Nothing more infuriating then getting wrong parts or missing parts when trying to complete a project.

At least it's not your daily.

Yeah but there are times I need it. Could have used it today but I guess I'll sit and drink beer instead lol.

If you ever want yukon hubs I have spacers for it now

Yes those Alcoa caps are in my living room, I will snap pics when home. But note they are DRW and may/probably differ than SRW units.

4.9 ran for about 30 to 40min of idle. 5min was at 3500rpm with trans in direct. Oil is dirty again...but that means is cleaning crap out. Inline coolant filter catching junk too.

As for my 97, parts are acquired for me to try again to idle. No more high side fuel leak coming up!

Ever receive your uppipe donuts in the mail? Do one side than the other. 50% beats 0%.

I yeah got those in the mail a week or two ago. Cleaning out the garage, going to work on steering shaft for sure this weekend since @d2freak82 constantly brags about it and makes fun of me for not having mine installed.

Your dirty oil reminds me of how loud the injectors clacked in my truck when I first got it. When I had my oil leak moving country and constantly had to top off I think I cleaned out enough junk because the injector noise went away during the trip.

How much stuff are you catching in the 4.9 coolant system? I recall the lobo and expedition were pretty gross.
