TMI!! This conversation has gone way down, don't even want to think about it.
Matt, just think of it as being able to do massive burnouts in your Grand Prix or Harley and never wear out the tires or get a ticket. Burnout on demand. But, in order to get to do that you have to endure a little temporary discomfort. Well worth it in the long run.

Im surprised you had to go to the doctor for the procedure. I figured your wife would go by herself and just pull your ***** out of her purse to get the snip work done. 😂😂👍👍
Just busting *****. 😂 See what I did there?
I’m back home now. Time to relax. I have an employee coming over tomorrow to help load and unload what needs to be done and then I’ll head home on Tuesday. Probably stop somewhere on the way back. All will be good and I’ll notify my orthopaedic surgeon that I’m coming to see him again for the umpteenth time.

I tried to get one when I was 22. Doc said no go and to come back when I was a man. Seriously. That’s what he said. 😂

Glad you got back safely. Hope they get you patched up and back in the game. Almost midnight here. I'm out.
Someone is going to think you're burying a body or something Jim. What recall?
Tailgate opening and the carpet/seatbelt recalls. I thought there was a third, but they found only two active ones for my truck.
The tailgate opening issue may have happened once to me. There are guys that blame the random tailgate opening on the button on the dash or the fob in the pocket. The dash button reacts only in certain circumstances. I don't think mine would activate if the vehicle was in Drive. With the key fob, the button has to be pressed twice. I like to think I'm talented but I don't think I could hit the button on the fob twice while it's in my pocket. I do store the fob in my pants pocket often.
All that to say that some electrical gremlin in the truck is initiating the tailgate opening at random times. I injected the dielectric grease into the connectors that are known to cause other electrical issues. So I think I'm safe, but I'll do the recall anyhow.

Had this done on mine in early spring.
Make sure you check the wiring on drivers side by spare. That where they spliced into mine & left it hanging & looked like crap. I got under there & taped it all back up nicely.

Thanks. I'll poke my head under there before leaving the lot.

I did the dielectric grease within the first few weeks and never had the tailgate drop. I still had the recall done. I tested out the opening buttons on the dash and remote while driving once......... I can’t remember exactly but I think they both opened the gate while in motion. I’ll have to try it again if I ever have an empty box.😬

Same here, I never had an issue, but I also didn't want to take that chance while towing. I never tried opening it while in motion either.
I did the grease also within a couple weeks of purchasing the truck.
I don't use the dash button that often. I think it had to be in Park with the driver door open before the button would work. It was strange getting it to work.

I know for sure that the dash button works while in reverse. I used to play jokes on my coworker by using the dash button to drop the tailgate right after they closed it. They didn’t know I could do that from inside the truck and would get pissed off that the tailgate wouldn’t stay closed. 😂

I'll have to play with the tailgate button some more. It seemed to have a number of safeguards to prevent accidental opening.
