Don't ask me why, but this reminds me of one particular time me, my wife, son, daughter & son-in-law went fishing in the intracoastal. The tide was going out so we anchored up next to a creek and were fishing around the mouth of the creek. S-I-L gets out of the boat and wades across the little creek and walks along the bank casting a lure. We were fishing with mud minnows we had caught earlier. My son was probably 12 at the time and he had to take a dump. No problem, go overboard and do your business. He does and about that time S-I-L is wading back to the boat. Unfortunately, he is downstream from the dumpage and as he is wading across the creek, about waist deep, no shirt, he sees this strange flotsam surrounding him. He had waded straight into the debris field! At first he was horrified at what he was in the midst of but the rest of us were howling. When he cleared the danger he thought it was pretty damned funny too. That was a good day. We caught fish and had a good laugh. Now, Teddy, hopefully wifey didn't do her business in the tub!

Bowtie, so what you’re saying is Caddyshack’s portrayal of a dump in a pool was way off? 😂 Great wording in that story. 😂

Water fiasco update.

Procrastinating finishing the basement really helped me out with this one.

Only about a quart of water made it down the vent. I drilled a hole in an elbow fitting to drain the water. Luckily, it was a low point and nothing made its way to the furnace. I’ll duct tape the drilled hole closed after some drying time.

A little water made its way to the basement by the toilet flange. This brings up the debate of using silicone around the base of a toilet. I remodelled the bathroom about 2yrs ago and I didn’t silicone because I would want to catch a flange leak. Some guys do, some guys don’t.

Not nearly as bad as I thought. She thought it was funny until I explained how much damage it could do to a finished basement.

All good now 👍

Different situation. No current to disperse dumpage in a pool. Another variable is the composition of the defecation. True story: Once when I was a kid, 11-12 years old maybe, I went on vacation with my friend and his family. They rented a cabin on a sandy bottom, clear lake a couple hours south of Jax. He had a sister about 16-17 and she took a friend. There was a really nice dock on the property too. Well, my buddy had the call of nature come upon him while we were swimming. He didn't feel like going back up to the cabin so he went under the dock and launched a submarine. We moved further out and away from ground zero and really didn't think much more about it. About 5 minutes later his sister and her friend came down and jumped off the dock and damn near landed on that foot long floater. We saw what happened about the same time they realized what they were in the very close proximity of. Hilarity ensued. They were simultaneously pissed and revolted. We were laughing so hard that if we couldn't have touched bottom we would have drowned. Well, they are super pissed and go tell Mom. She comes down there and rips him a new one and made him go to the cabin for the rest of the afternoon. That's another one I'll never forget.

Around here its a requirement, on a permitted job that involves a bathroom remodel or on new work, they wont pass final inspection if the toilet base isn't caulked.

I thought it might make more sense telling a story with pictures considering your audience. Then again I didn't know snowflakes and hillbillies were a thang either. Who knew?
