Although you have a chrome bumper I assume you're leaving polished? I'm having trouble imagining it!
3X truck looking great.

This is a good idea and may I add perfect for a 1969 specifically because mid 68 though mid 69, those steel grilles actually came painted white unless it was a Ranger trim (some sources say it was Corinthian White but I am leaning to Wimbledon unless the truck came full Corinthian)...but I still haven't gotten hard evidence from anything except ebay listings for old parts like this one:

Yeah it will be unique with the grill painted body color but if I can pull off the patina paint on it as well I think it will look great. The center aluminum strips will stay polished and will tie in with all of the other chrome and polished parts. I think it should all go together nicely...
Here is a older picture of the custom grill again so just imagine it light blue and blending in more with the body.
Also note the fender paint has been reworked and looks a lot better now then it did in this picture.
I have a suggestion to switch to clear lenses with amber bulbs or is that too much?

I see it now! Yes, that sounds great with the amazing patina matching you've done so far!

Yeah I have a set of clear lenses on my 69 F250 and I really like the look of them but when I was ordering all my parts they were sold out. So I had to go with the original amber colored ones.
I'll try them out once the grill is painted and ready
These holes were directly above the angle plate on the side of the bed rail...
put a 90 degree bend on the bottom patch to match the floor and predrilled some holes to plug weld.
Put in some new seam sealer and then sprayed on a quick coat of paint to protect the new metal.
It's not pretty but it's not rotten anymore and the new bed-liner coating should be thick enough to help blend it in a little more.
Looks perfect to me
Looks good to me too.
I spent my day taking the drivers door apart and installing some new parts and some general maintenance on the door... rebuilt the wing window, put in new window felt / weather-stripping, matched set of door locks with a matching keyed ignition, a new outside door handle and sound deadener.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
I saw someone start to do this a long time ago but never saw the finished product and when I searched for it I couldn't find it. They chopped the top of the tailgate and flipped it over and mounted it like that. I never saw it past that point.
So my version of it is this but still in the mock up...
That's it for now, more to come...
Looking pretty snazzy back there.
Thanks!
I had a medical issue that caused a bit of a delay for my projects and had to take it easy for a little while. Starting to feel good enough to continue work on the roll pan today.
The shape is dialed in now just a lot of sanding to get all the transitions smooth so everything flows together nicely.
