First attempt custom grill
I have to admit that I don't know those grills all that well but the centered look is really nice and feels more balanced. Reminds me of my tailgate I never finished, when I show guys I have to point out the changes but for the paint job I'm planning it will work for my truck.
Nicely done, that tailgates going to look nice. I love subtle changes, (one) it's unique, (two) it pisses off the purists. I know with my 66 grille not even the purist see it right away. When they do, they like it, even though they don't say it. It's the nod of the head that I can tell.
Exactly!
This is what the whole truck looked like before wet sanding it.
and this what it looked like under it all...
it took a bit of work to remove all the primer...
Here are a few pics of how it looks now. I'll have to paint the drivers side fender to match (picked up some paint today) I never thought about what was under the primer or the possibility of liking what was there but now I find myself researching ways to protect and bring out more patina.

Now that the Sky View Blue has come out, maybe its time to change the black grille shell to white! Maybe respray the rear bumper white as well? Would look pretty darn good! Some old style mag wheels?
I've never been a fan of the "billet tube grille" for the 70's Fords. I think you made that look exceptionally well for/on the truck.

FoPar1972 I like the way your truck has turned out. It looks Bitchin. My 67 F-100 still has most of it original paint but it has got the patina thing going pretty heavy. What I'm planning to do is scuff it then shoot some flat clear and call it good. I have used the DJM kit on and and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Some people use this stuff call Patina Sauce but my thing is if you ever what to paint your truck how are you gonna get that stuff off.?

The dash pad has seen better days so I yanked it out and cleaned up the metal underneath.
I was happy to see that there wasn't any rust under the pad or inside the dash...
Pulled out one of my spare dash pads and scrubbed it really good with degreaser and rinsed it off...
Then hit it with a coat of Vinyl Prep and wiped it down good and let it dry.
With it clean and dry I sprayed it with 3 coats of Landau Black and let it dry.
Ran out of time to get it installed tonight so I'll finish it up tomorrow.
It goes nicely with the rebuilt the dash and new bezel along with new armrest, horn ring and door lock ****

Old dash bezel
And now you have another driver to use. Nice work!

Pulled out the old headliner, it's wavy and pulling away from the trim also one of the past owners sprayed it dark blue and sanded the chrome trim so time for it to go.
grabbed my new one from storage and prepped it for paint and then hit it with the same black paint as the dash pad.
Also figured I'd make the sun visors match. The drivers side was damaged so I had to dig another one out of storage.
Also painted the holder...
The passenger side had a period correct mirror stuck to it so I carefully pulled it free and cleaned it up and painted it as well.
once everything was dry I put it all back together.
I also started trying to paint match the drivers side fender but ran out of time tonight so that will have to be finished up sometime soon...
Just not looking right yet so I'll have to keep trying
