Good luck!!!! Fingers crossed this fixes you up!

There will always be smoke after injector swap because some oil usually gets in exhaust manifolds. Don’t freak out.

That is really bizarre. Those are not OEM o-rings, so they’ve been replaced at some point.

I wonder if someone used some some kind of lube that caused them to deteriorate like that?? Hard to imagine something in the fuel or oil that caused that degradation... I guess they could have been damaged during install???

Thinking out loud, maybe some kind of cheap o-rings?? I’ve never used anything but Motorcraft. No idea what the ‘others’ look like.

i have good news for my final update on this particular episode!

after i finished my o rings on my injectors, I took it on about a 30 mile trek out to my buds house, figured i needed a cold beer!
after about 15 miles at say 55ish, i decided to heck with it i punched it in the Accelerator and pushed to 80, smokin like a freak the whole time, LOL its either going to run out of oil or burn it off!
I get out by my friends house and take a left down his little dirt road and look back , I see nothing , I am not fogging the place up like i am killin mosquitos! I stopped and let it idol out, get out of the truck and just stand there watching the tailpipe, i am at this point wanting to pat myself on the back!
BUT i have let myself down before, I turn it off, let it sit for a few minutes , fire it back up , it cranked instantly! OMG i am happy!

Go on over to my buds house we are talking about all that i had to do had a cold one or 2 , and decide i better head home, get in turn the ignition, Fires right up , No long crank , no hesitation!

So i drive the ole girl home, i drove her like i just stole her , not taking it easy at all ! Figure if it breaks it was already broken! LOL

I get it home and tested a bit of a theory , Because before i would have to crank uncomfortably long to get her to fire, I had checked the hopo reservoir many time and there was amost nothing in there, ( leading me to believe the lpop was going out) Or the check valve has gone bad

I let it sit for 20 mins and come back and check the hpop it was full!

so in my conclusion because the o rings where not allowing the system to hold pressure it was allowing the hpop to bleed out not down but into the oil rail?

causing the long crank to build pressure?

i am so damned happy to have it fixed not sure if i care why it's working now, just seems interesting that it can bleed in that direction.

OK now don't go crazy and beat me up , but i would love to hear what you all think about this! LOL remember i just spent the better part of 2 days taking everything apart and putting it back together and it actually works!

it is reasonable that the hpop bleeding down cured itself with just fixing the injector o rings?

LOL or is that common knowledge that i just figured out

Btw there are so many of you guys to thank for your help , opinions and great advise! Jason, sous, Brandon, i'm sure there are others , thanks tons!

Good work man!

I don’t have an explanation for the draining HPO reservoir. I’ll give that more thought while my coffee kicks in...

There is really nowhere for the oil to ‘go’ if it leaked past the injector o-rings.
