Just dirty air. Teeny, tiny ‘rocks’ (dust).

Compressor wheel spins up to like 50k rpms. Any Impact = damage.

Possible causes are:

An incorrect oil level

High pressure oil pump

ICP Sensor

Injector Control Pressure Regulator

Follow the routines in the service manual to resolve the DTC listed.

Note: This DTC may set after a high pressure oil system repair. Drive the vehicle to clear the air from the system after completing the repair and clear the DTC.

I was going to take off the down pipe and this is what I see before I even get started



Looking up to the turbo


think theres a problem?!?!

Diagnostic Trouble Code details

Cylinder #2 Contribution/Balance

This DTC may be caused by :

Internal engine components

Possible causes are:

Fuel Injector

Valve train assembly

Compression rings

Refer to the vehicle Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) Manual for specific diagnostic steps.

Note: The A/C must be off when carrying out the KOER cylinder contribution test.

i have done that in the past but not recently, just did the blow by test none present

I don’t have a good explanation for all that oil at up-pipes.

What are perdels? No.2 is appears to have an issue.

I can see oil running all the way down from the turbo, I could not the Perdels to respond but the cylinder contribution test showed me #2 was having an issue, not sure what that means

So I am going to still pull the down pipe but what does it mean that there is oil on both of my up pipes drivers side is much worse, are my injectors leaking so much oil that it’s pulling it into the turbo? Head gaskets ?

More like a turbo seal then injectors. Also check the plugs on the back of the heads to see if they are leaking. No oil in the valley?

No oil in valley no leaks anywhere


No oil in the down pipe some caking, plugs are good

Something is up with cylinder 2.

You can try swapping 2&4 injectors and see if problem moves to 4.

Might see something obvious when pulling injectors.

i am at a loss as to what to do, i see oil coming down from the y on the up pipes , but nothing really distinctive in the down pipe, Now i have #2 showing issues , i am shaking my head, to confusing to consider tonight gonna sleep on it
