Wink Apologies

This probably does not belong on the diesel site (forgive me, diesel moderators), but as the proud owner of a 2000 f250 4X4 with a 7.3L diesel, I wanted to post on the diesel forum. As a junior member (70+ posts) on FTE, I realize that much is expected of me regarding drive, determination, input to the FTE forum, etc., but much to my chagrin, I recently came back home after a 2-week vacation and logged onto FTE, and at the top of my page in big, bold letters was the message "You Haven't Posted In 2 Weeks. FTE is a member participation website, and input from members is expected and encouraged"!!! (or words to that effect). Needless to say, I felt like I just received a letter from the power company telling me that if I don't send in my bill ASAP, my power will be disconnected. With tail between my legs, I responded to 2 different topics right away...just to keep my hand in and to satisfy the web-site *****.

I just want to say up front that I apologize for my recent lack of participation and wish to warn the FTE administrators that I occasionally like to leave the smog-choked, crime-riddled city of Charlotte, NC for more sedate locales for the purposes of relaxation and other pleasant pursuits. My excuse this last time was a fishing/camping trip to the outer banks of NC, and the result of this trip was the landing of many fish of different species and the inordinate amount of drinking of spiritous liquors and malt beverages. Also, I tend to be in places which (Thank God) are out of cell phone range and not connectable to computer through dial-up or wireless modems. I would just like to warn the administrators that I have another vacation planned in July and in October......so 1-week or 2-week dearths of communication from this member during those months should NOT be met with alarm....I WILL remain a loyal and active member of FTE and promise never to buy an Asian truck.

Thank you for your consideration and patience in this matter.

Yours in Ford

Steve

Do they really do that? Or am I a "fish on" here after the fact of your fishing trip?

They really did it........Obviously, most of my post was tongue-in-cheek, but I did get that (paraphrased) message.......I guess when you average a post every couple of days and they don't hear from you in a couple of weeks, they send out the signal to get off your butt and type something (haha).......All in good gun, and I love this site....

Just edit the original post within the hour. I do it all the time. Most of the time I catch it but if someone quotes you, ya live with it.

On edit: all in good gun. See

Just so you'll know....Y'all have your fun and games, but Mr.T really is on retainer as the FTE post enforcer . He has actually posted a couple of times under his assumed name, Tim Lamkin. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

I dont' have a diesel, wish I did, but the headline caught my attention I have to admit I've had this happen to me too! Although I wasn't on a fishing trip but my computer was having a hard time with FTE for some reason and I couldn't log on or post anything. It was a painful two weeks. All seems to be better now. :-)

It's probably been posted already, but what is that avatar Dan? A "foo" like me can barely make it out now that you are using a mere FTE mortal sized one.

PS: note the smilies!
