If you have a chance, can you please post a photo of your 3/8" Grade 70 chain hooks engaged in your 2019 hitch. It is highly probably that some readers might benefit from seeing photos from a fellow FTE member who they can converse directly with if they have questions.

Pretty sure that that everyone here knows how to clip safety hooks on. I bought a pair of 3/8" safety clips and they would clip on but would bind. Never had a problem with safety clips in 16 years of towing (w my personal trucks) until purchase of my 2020 F250 .

Since these hooks aren't built to a spec/standard, variation in the geometry is to be expected.
