A SSN is not as secure as it used to be and is not that much of a security risk anymore. Right off the top of my head, a car loan, mortgage and employment opportunities are all where SSN is normally required. After being in the military for 22 years, 3 months and 27 days, my SSN is all over the world and has been compromised more times than I have been to Wal-mart. Identity theft can happen to anyone. Performing annual credit reports on yourself and banking with institutions that have good identity theft policies in place is what matters.
Getting back on topic...
I am looking for convenience in filling up, the savings are merely a bonus. Currently the steps are pulling up to a Love's (or whatever non Pilot/Flying J) commercial pump, going in to leave my credit card at the register, or authorize $200 on the card. Returning to the pump to fuel the truck and auxiliary tank. Then going back to the register to pay for the fuel. Then returning to the truck to leave the fuel station. With the TDS commercial fuel card I will have the ability to pull up to the pump, pay for fuel at the pump and then be on my way.
I have done some research and I have seen a few complaints for the services offered by TDS Logistics, but for the most part they are offering what appears to be a great service for people like me.
Thank you for your feedback, I do appreciate it.
I have the RV Plus charge for Flying J/Pilot. I got the Loves My Rewards Card and had them turn on the Pump Start feature. Now I insert my Loves card, fill up then go in to pay and pee... You have to fill out an application and find someone at the truckers desk to turn it on for you.
I copied this from another forum for you: While our current program doesn’t disqualify RV drivers, it wasn’t initially designed to accommodate our RV guests. We no longer require a DOT number to secure a Pump Start card and that allows our RV guests to participate in the Pump Start and My Love Rewards programs. We offer points per gallon as well as drink refills and free showers for purchases that exceed 50 gallons. To qualify, your fuel purchase must be made on the commercial diesel side of our locations. Discounts on fuel are not part of the program, but we like to think that the points earned inside and outside go a long way toward the total cost of traveling. We’d like to be your stop of choice so please stop by any Love’s Travel Stop and pick up a My Love Rewards card at our diesel counter.
Thanks for reaching out to Love’s, we look forward to seeing you on the road!
As far as your other fuel card- if you are going to use Loves and Pilot anyway and they are usually higher in price than other places- why not? I would if I towed very much
Johndeerefarmer, thank you for posting up the information about Love's. This goes against everything I have been told in the store, over the phone talking to Love's rep or via email. Although, I would assume those employees either didn't care about what I was asking about or didn't know.
I still see the TDS/EFS card being a benefit over the Pilot/Flying J card I currently have and then the potential of having a Love's card. If this TDS/EFS card was not available me as a consumer and not a commercial driver, I would 100% sign up for the Love's card. The fuel discounts that the TDS/EFS card provides is a bonus for me and seems like a win/win. These opportunities are becoming more and more rare as the sun sets and rises it seems.
As I mentioned earlier, we will return to GA from ID in mid-December and I fully intend to apply for the TDS/EFS card either when we are on the road back or when we get home. We didn't get much of a chance to camp this summer due to death and illnesses in the family, but think we will do some off-season camping. We also need to restock our firewood supply (4+ cords) in the back of the property. What I am saying is that there will plenty of opportunities for me to use the TDS/EFS card in January and February well before the camping season next year.
In encourage positive and detailed discussion regarding the use of the TDS/EFS program, or another similar program that has not been brought to light.

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving season!
You are welcome. Ask the clerk at the trucking desk in Loves. If they don't know then have them ask the manager.
i took my last trip with the Card and found the Love's discounts to be the best. I used the app and was able to see the charges and discounts promptly. There is no reason not to get it, it is a win/win for TSD and us.

Looks good, I had EFS when I drove commercially through the company I leased to, looks like the same program. App sent, with a standard debit & an 80 gallon transfer I end up running a card multi times to fill with the $75 cut off.
I filled out the online application form Saturday evening late. They called a few minutes ago to finalize the application and so I could provide my SSN and my bank account number. They said I should receive my card in the next 2-3 weeks.
I have a 48 gallon tank and I have used it twice since getting the card. I am saving over $20 per tank!
That's awesome! I just got my card and downloaded the App but haven't used it yet. Between the 38 truck and 90 gallon aux tank I should have quite the savings potentially.
So the other day using the Gasbuddy app and the EFS app I screenshot the fuel price per gallon at the same Loves station. On this day it was about a .31 cents per gallon savings. On a 120 gallon fillup in my case, that's a $37.20 savings. Just thought I'd share for an example. Makes it worth it to me.
Just came across this thread so I'm a bit late to the discussion. A friend had told me about the card and how great it was over paying full price. I guess it is. But....
I pull a fifth wheel. So I just disconnect when stopped for the night and grab a tank full (AUX plus main is 71 gallons although never is that empty) at a close fuel station found via the GasBuddy app and we can grab a bite to eat someplace at the same time if we want. Always a hugh savings over any truck stop. And I use a Bank of America card with a 5% discount on fuel (your savings may vary based on your BoA finances). That kind of savings adds up.
Just a quick look at any truck stop compared to almost any independent or national fuel chain close by shows the truck stop is almost always 30 to 40 cents higher.
So, for me, in a fifth wheel, the card isn't any big deal. If I still had my class A I might feel different. But I switched back to a fifth wheel for savings and so far it is working quite well. Not saying one is better than the other, just reporting my viewpoint.
