Sorry hit reply to early. I meant to add that if the "peak" is low then it is my understanding is contributing less power (i.e. the crank is not spinning as fast as it should) and if the valley is low it is requiring longer to inject the fuel or possibly more timing from the FICM to inject the fuel. I could have this all wrong so certainly don't use what I said as fact.
Ready to push this truck off a cliff. Not only did the passenger seat switch stop working (and of course the seat is all the way forward) the other day but I got a P0267 code tonight.
Didn't seem to notice anything went I stopped for fuel but started the truck back up and the CEL popped on. Read the code and cleared it. By the time I got to my destination 15 miles later it was idling pretty rough. I think I am cursed with cylinder #3.
Buzz test failed on #3. All others were good. One of my laptops that has my IDS clone VM on it I loaned out to someone. Once I have it back will run a contribution test. Hopefully between these two tests I won't have any issue in getting it warrantied.
Anyone know if Motorcraft's warranty is honored at any dealer? I bought the injectors from Whitebear Lake Auto Nation but I want to get this fixed tomorrow and not wait for parts to ship. I would rather go to my local dealer and get it replaced.
I thought about this but if a buzz test and contribution test aren't enough to confirm the injector is truly dead and should be warrantied then I'll just buy a new one. I REALLY don't want to spend the money but right now my time is getting pretty valuable as well.
After reading through this entire thread, congrats on your job (I assume you got it fixed).
I am really interested in the section where you stated that you obtained an IDS clone and created a VM setup for it.
Questions:
Where did you obtain your IDS clone at?
Is it a vm ware clone or other container? (curious)
The software and hardware were purchased from a member on FTE. I will PM you his name. I think it includes the VM and VMware but I have all that since I use various VMs and VMware Workstation daily for work.
I just realized you only have 1 post so I don't think you have PM privileges yet. The member here that may still sell the clones is Yahiko. He's a very active member of the 6.0 sub-forum.
That last line in the “Oasis” fuel pressure 45 psi flowing. That is on the very low end of acceptable fuel pressure. Might be the cause of dropping injectors. I would put the Blue Spring in and get that up to around 60 before i replaced injectors or lost anymore.
edit: went back above that and read 42 psi. You need Blue spring !!!! Badly.
Beat me to this suggestion. #7 is farthest from the fuel pump and usually the first to go bad when the pump starts going out. #3 is on the far side too. You'll burn them all up pretty quickly if you don't get that pressure up. Don't ask me how I know, lol.
I'm assuming you've changed the fuel filters recently. I had a bad filter cause one of my truck to start smoking and running bad. Replaced and haven't had another problem.
