I have a 2005 f350 6.0 flatbed that we use for a shop truck. Lately it will be driving perfectly fine, then lose power. No matter what I do to the pedal, no power, then all of the sudden it takes off and runs fine for awhile. In the search for the solution for this problem, we have pulled the tanks and checked the strainers, replaced the fuel pump and both filters as well as a local shop replaced the egr valve. Still doesn't seem to help. Last weekend we noticed the gauge light started blinking and the transmission gauge read zero. Checked it and the tranny was low. No leaks anywhere. Filled it up and again, a week later it shows low again. Is there any way these two problems could be one in the same. Again, no leaks anywhere. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Are you checking fluid level with the truck running? If it was low and you filled it to the dipstick with the engine off, you probably under-filled it and when it started running it pushed fluid form the pan out and it's reading low again.
Don't know if this helps or not. We were just running across town to pick up some parts. Ran great going, then on the way back, it started loading up and would barely idle. No response to acceleration. Pulled over for a few minutes. After several tries, it started right up and ran great all the way back. Just thought that I would throw this in. Thanks
I checked the ficm. All is good. 49.4V. pulled egr back out after it having been replaced. It was pretty gunked up and a little wet. The mass airlow sensor was also dirty. Cleaned it all and put it back in. First day, ran with one small stutter. The next day more, and today, even worse. Not sure where to go from here.
