Anybody else having an issue with the Scan Gauge II loosing sync with the OBD port?
Mine runs fine, then all of a sudden a couple gauges I'm watching just stop. Requires me to turn the truck off, allowing the gauge to die and then restart truck and allow the gauge to start on its own... restores function every time, just a pain to do it at a red light.
Mine does the same thing. Sometimes turning it off and on or restrting the truck works, sometimes I need to disconnect it from the OBDII port to get it to function properly.
It has probably happened 4 or 5 time in the last year.
I have had this thrice since owning it. Each time I had to unplug it after shutting truck off and then always comes back. Seems I always have the EOT pid but others will be blank until I go thru the motions. Mine is only four months old.

I've had the same experience and the same thing seems to remedy the problem....personally I blame it on a computer glitch with the truck, the truck seems to run the same when it's happening as when it's not so I don't believe there is anything to prevent it from happening, and it's so infrequent it's not really a problem anyway
I've noticed that when it happens, disconnecting does not resolve the reading, it's just blank at that point, no numbers at all. Before disconnection, the numbers are not moving.
For me, only a truck restart, allowing it to sleep and then allowing a self wake does it begin working again.
Going by a faded memory here but did you guys set it up so it is triggered on by a tach signal so it comes on automatically OR are you turning it on manually by hitting the button? I have mine setup so it's triggered on so after a few seconds of running it comes to life. It auto shuts down too when it loses an rpm reading even if the key is on. I never had a problem like you guys describe.
Happens every 2-3 months for me. I have to leave it disconnected for a few minutes. Usually just pull the obd plug and reconnect it next time I start up.
I do have it set to auto on, although I usually turn it on manually before starting.
