So I just scrolled through your entire thread and thoroughly enjoyed seeing everything you've done to your '01. I wish I was that talented and capable, but you've given me an idea of what my '01 could look like. Amazing. Thank you for sharing your work.

New discontinued parts in the house...!!
My drivers airbag grey color is starting to come off on the lower left corner, I have the correct graphite paint in spray form, but when I looked the part up and found that it's discontinued with about 6 left in the country, I just ordered one.
Stopped by my regular dealer today to stock up on maint items. Sadly they will be closing as a Ford dealer in about a week, and be just a used car dealer. I have another account at a larger dealer owned by an auto group, so I'll have to shop there going forward. I'll get all the same access to parts/accessories available through dealer networks, but my pricing tier will be a bit higher as I'm no longer buying from a mom and pop dealer.
I should be good for a few years. Since the AIS filters last forever, I'm set for life on those.
The oil pan is the start of a new batch of parts I'm rounding up for an engine pull possibly late next year or in 2025. I want to replace and reseal the oil pan, add bellowed up pipes, probably replace the oil and fuel rail O rings as suggested by Nicmike, possibly replace the exhaust manifold bolts, and gaskets. I'll expect the truck to be down as long as needed.
As far as that oil stick adapter, I'll probably weld that one in, or choose the one from Diesel Power Products.

Reg the oil dip stick adapter, I went with the machined aluminum. I forget the price but it is nice and so far has held nicely. It doesn’t flex like the cheap OEM.
Are you able to pull your 7.3 from the top without lifting the body? Mine had to lift the body to get the engine out.

That is the adapter that comes with a new Ford pan. I will opt for the weld on I believe, I have the Strictly Diesel one I installed 2 years ago. I should be able to remove the engine from the front.
Nice thread. I like it. I ran across it on link you posted on 7.3 page. I'm here to follow along now. Looks like you aint afraid to tear something apart just like me. 😂 I'm currently in tbe middle of a 08 dash/interior swap with 11+ cluster in my 99 250 now. Along with coil spring axle swap and all kinds of stuff.

Many thanks, I'm just having my fun, being ****, making it right by my standards, learning the dance as I go, and keeping myself hungry for NOS parts.
It's come a long way, barely ran when I got it with the bad top engine harness, and a few bad sensors. For me, maintenance means sometimes replacing something that isn't broken...
Got my hands on the last one after lots of calling dealers. I'm doing away with the wood trim on the switch holders. I'll have to peel off the pass side faux wood grain and try to restore that piece as I cannot obtain that one anywhere.
