Good morning Oregon! Sorry I haven't been around, hurt my back Monday morning, and it was too damn hard to sit in the computer chair at home for too long! Just love getting old. I threw my back out........Tying my shoe before work........
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 52.8 and overcast.
Have to stop at Lowe's today to pick up some hardware then I'm going back to the range for a full 'dress rehearsal' of all 11 events I'm shooting in on Saturday.
Got my hitch extension yesterday and put it on the pickup last night to see how it looks. I now have a 3 point connection to the rear bumper instead of just one and am good for 10,000 pounds, although the hitch ***** are only rated to 6000 lbs. Hitch mount on the pickup is rated to 16,500. It is going to make hooking up a trailer while the camper is on much simpler and it will be much more secure since the bumper on this camper won't support the bracing and support brackets that I had built on the old camper.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 53.0 and overcast.
Got home last night to a Carnival in the back yard. Drives the dogs nuts and they bark at everyone and everything that comes by the back fence. Phil Sheridan Days 2018 is underway and in full swing. Kiddie parade tonight and Grand Parade tomorrow night.
Got the new customized hitch bar on the pickup last night and got it strapped down with the heavy duty chain links turnbuckles. The thing is rock solid now and much better than the old extension bar that I had made in 1989. The old bar relied in part on a rear camper bumper system for some support. With the camper we have now, the bumper is not rated for weight or any hitches.
Still have to put the 7 pin extension pig tail to install and a couple of bracket clamps to put on, but that won't take too long.
