Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Made a quick trip to Perrydale this afternoon, not to far from the farm. Thought maybe a friends house was on fire. Wasn't theirs. Was someone else's farther up the road. So, we detoured on the way home and went down Smithfield Road and out through the country side. Ended up at Basket Slough then backtracked around to Morton and come out on Perrydale Road.
We were going to work our way over to the Bethel Cemetery and check on our grave sites, but didn't make it to far. My sister distracted me by calling and asking how to winterize her camp trailer....
AND, Yes, we have grave sites at Bethel...I like to check on them every year as we approach tax time to confirm that they are unoccupied and that we should probably go ahead and pay the tax bill.
It's Friday and for the second Friday in a row, I made the front page of the local paper. <sigh> I need to find a new job or get rid of parts of the one I have.... And people wonder why I drink and I'm grumpy.

Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Started off at 24, up to 26 and overcast now.
Usually only get to Stayton in the Spring or Summer when we are going to Silver Falls or Detroit Chris. On hot days, the Dairy Queen is easy to get to with the camper on and / or pulling the boat.

I don't subscribe to the Scandal Sheet. But let me guess, the pavement has a crack, the Restaurant failed and was taken over by a cable company, the Fuel Tanks are leaking, the California Wine Company (Jacksons?) wants to charge the city rent and is still suing everyone, Evergreen's F15 with Sparrows (Michael Smith memorial) is an eye sore and instrument of war, killing and maiming baby's, the whole mess is a great contributor to noise pollution, OSP should fix the City's roof and since it is a 'P' rated field the military is going to land, invade and take over and a bunch of very nice people who know more than anyone else in the state, if not the world, have the solutions that only require a billion dollars and are P.O.'d the tax payers or California Vintners aren't forking it over. Did I miss anything - besides the black birds and Seagulls pooping in someone's coffee?
Forgive me if I sound a little cynical...I did my time in hell under Joe Dancer, Patron Saint and all around good guy.

pretty darn close...but you missed one....the trees are too tall. Oh and ODOT is to slow and everyone thinks they can make them move faster than I can. Next time you head out hwy18 to Newberg or Portland, look at the buzz cut I I gave the trees east of the airport.
