think dad said he got 4-5" there at the NC house.. here at the beach we got 2 inches of ice on the flat lands and 4" of snow wherever it got stopped and chance to piled up.. suns melting the roads but being that its still 27* outside once it sets theyll return to ice again..
Afternoon, NC! I think we wound up getting about 4" in Henry County, VA. Only worked a half day yesterday, from 10-2, and working 11-5 today. The main roads are clear now; they were nasty when we left yesterday afternoon. The side roads to get me to the house are still very slick. Passed two vehicles stuck in ditches over about 2 blocks getting down the big hill I live on. On the wifey's Subaru today since Hellfreezer 2 is only 2WD and I respect my limits as a driver
I'd say 3-4 inches here in Fuquay. Everything is nice and white. I haven't attempted to leave the house, and with the flu kicking my butt, haven't done much work or much of anything the last couple of days.
Looks like most got at least a little taste of it. Still covered here but the roads are looking a lot clearer now the sun is out.
Thanks James,
The fever broke yesterday just leaving me with a sore throat and the normal aches that go along with being bed ridden for a few days. Got to make it out today, Popeye finally has an appointment to have his eye checked out, to see what can be done. The initial Vet's inspection stated that it was completely non seeing, however on recheck it's been found that he does have a little sight in that eye. So it's time to see what we can do about fixing it right. Of course with two good working eyes, the kitten will probably be twice as much trouble and twice as much of an *********.
I made an attempt to go in to the office today but ended up turning around. Took 35 minutes to go 4 miles to get to 40 and 40 was backed up past my exit. U turn. Forget all that. Cars sliding around. Working from home again.
Last few days have been fun out on the roads with the LP tank trailer.
Been running Greensboro, Mount Airy area out to Scotland Neck area.
Nothing like drivers hitting the brakes on ice going down hill with a 80,000+ lb LP truck behind them!
Then when you get to the drop sites, not plowed yet and trying to get close enough for the hoses to reach has been fun..........NOT!
Have off toady but have to be back at work 3am Monday morning to pick up a load going out to Scotland Neck then call for my other loads.

Good morning North Carolina brotheren!
We had a beautiful weekend, so the rest of the Christmas Light Display is taken down and stored until this next season. Being unseasonably warm, that led to some pretty good storms late last night. We had our first Severe Thunderstorm, AND Tornado Warning of 2018 . Weather guessers are saying that there was an F1 Tornado to the west of us about half an hour. And that's plenty close enough.
Tim is supposed to be here this evening sometime, and spending Tuesday with us too. He's coming down to try to take care of a speeding ticket he got when he was still working at Silver Dollar City.
Hope y'all are doing alright!
