I'm out here messing with the truck I get to a point in cranking where it starts to fire then it will just stop again then I have to go back through bleeding the Schrader valve after cranking any ideas anyone
I put fuel in the bowl because I drained it upon changing the lift pump I have now noticed the pit nut was loose so working on cranking the back down thought about checking it yesterday but didn't cuz i didnt think that was an issue
Remove the filter top again and make sure it still has fuel. If it has been pumped out then add fuel again. This will help prime the system. Did you remove the chip as suggested?
Fuel bowl still has fuel about half where it should be upon removing filter. I have not removed the chip yet as I was still getting the same results. I noticed the ipr tin nut was loose and upon tightening it up all I'm getting is crank now back to previous so I'm starting to assume the ipr is bad? Because it was pretty loose to where I could move the plug around now I have it snugged all the way up with no luck of it starting
I too had a '97, all original. But my IPR was cracked at the solenoid connector, undone, loose........so I put in a new one, still no start.....turned out it was a bad IDM. But at least the truck got a new IPR. I know you swapped your IDM already, but how about a factory CPS?
I am using torque pro paid 5 dollars for it and I know it seems to be lower than previous tries maybe the cps is going out to probably gonna change that and rebuild the ipr does anyone know a good place to get the rebuild kit for it
