They hooked a scanner up to test oil pressure said I have oil pressure but it takes a second to build it and it will shoot up to like 2400 psi. Said they did fuel pressure tests has fuel pressure. I guess it was throwing a cps code but there was never a cel on the dash. So they changed that. Said all injectors buzz and all that jazz. Tested idm with a different one. Then they did some sort of electrical test to the pcm and said 2 prongs come back bad and 2 are ok.

The wheels are 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern. And yes, I believe Chevy 8 lug wheels should fit the axles. I guess you need to locate a PCM then, huh?

The wheels did fit on just needed them on to get the truck onto the trailer. She's finally at home and not all over the place. I have found a guy with one in Kentucky but he failed to mention till the last minute he charges a hundred dollar core charge. So got to wait till this weekend to buy it.

Did they provide any written documentation of the tests they did, including which terminals they said were inop?

No they did not which I was hoping they would have. Only thing they gave me with the receipt was written documentation of what I had told them when I took the truck in

Check out Car-Part.com and see if they list one closer to you than that. You should be able to find one used without a core charge,

^^^^ Good idea. Even if you find one not close by, it shouldn't be more than $10-20 to ship. Then you also have both PCMs for testing purposes. If it turns out your existing PCM is good, you have a spare, which is a good thing to have.

Hey guys back again. Sent the pcm off to be rebuilt. Upon getting it back today I am still not getting anywhere. When trying to start while watching torque pro I am building high pressure oil but it is very weird. It will slowly build starting around 50 psi and make it's way up to about 460 psi then it will raise to about 2400 psi while cranking but never fire off.

If you crank for a long time without stopping (between 15 - 20 seconds) the PCM will ignore the ICP and go into open loop. This means the PCM will use inferred values just as if you unplugged the ICP. In other words, it's guessing. If you monitor ICP volts instead of pressure it's real time regardless of cranking time. Anything above 0.88 volts on the ICP would indicate significant HP oil to fire the injectors > than 500 PSI. Don't get caught up when doing excessive cranking times and assume the scanner is giving you real time ICP PSI head pressure.

You indicated the shop said it took only a second or so build 2400 PSI via their scanner, which is practical on a working rig but your scanner is disagreeing with those numbers. I'm going to believe you and not them as we don't have their data. If I get some time this afternoon I'll read all 13 pages in case I'm missing something.

actually to my knowledge I'm getting the same results as the shop crank and crank and crank then it would slowly build then jump up to 2400psi is what the shop said and is what is happening in my situation and they are extended cranks. It will build slowly until it hits about 460psi and then just shoots up to 2400psi

I got a screen recording of torque pro while trying to start the truck but it won't let me upload it. Basically what's going on is after cranking for about 15 seconds it builds up to 460psi very slowly but is getting to 460ish and then it just jumps up to 2400psi at about 20 seconds. The starter is now making a very bad whining noise and I'm only getting cranking rpms of about 160. But while I'm cranking I am getting smoke out of the exhaust. Seems to me like it should be firing up what am I missing here now.
