That ignition cylinder may be it, mine wouldn’t shut off ounce and I had to pull the max fuse under the hood to shut it down.
U said they had off road fuel in it,was there black s—t in the fuel filter bowl? If there is that stuff will screw up your fuel system too. It’s from the high pressures in the fuel system witch solidifys the molecules in the fuel. All diesel has it. I use power service fuel additive constantly and never have fuel problems on any of my equipment or trucks no gelled systems either when it’s cold.
It's just the key broke off in the cylinder but I'll swap it out. Then I'm gonna buy the forscan lite right now i have the demo. The fuel bowl is all clean and clear I just cleaned it out and resealed it. But would any of that cause it not to squirt oil at the injector or not be putting any fuel into the cylinder?

No it will not cause an injector to not attempt to inject fuel (oil spout spitting oil) Check your PMs
You said it fired with the fuel mist right, can u keep it running like that or not? When u change the oil do u fill the filter up with oil before u spin it on? U should on any engine, that filter holds 2+quarts that’s a lot!
Ok i got my adapter to work I had to almost be touching it with the phone and i took a screen shot both batteries were fully charged and rpms were around 160
Sorry I don’t have vin # so I guess the shell answer man does but late built 97’s had electric pumps.
No OBS Powerstroke had electric pumps in the tanks. The Super Duty trucks were the first to have electric pumps, and even they weren't in the tank, they were on the frame rail.
So i put 150psi of air to the heads and there sealed up tight. Tested the coil on the ipr it tested fine. It's either an hpop problem or ipr problem. I made an adapter to test the heads the quarter turn valve saves me from a mess
The fitting in the head has a jamb nut so u can tighten it up at any angle
Hey Rebilld, what did a 98’have in it? Mine was a the last build of 97’ and mine had electric lift pump going up to the high pressure pump in the valley.I ordered the truck on the last week of that model.wasnt that the transition to super duty?
Any electric pump upstream of the lift pump in the valley is aftermarket, and probably a bad idea. A Superduty would be, as said, a 1999, and would have only an inline electric pump, and no lift pump in the valley (those engines didn't even have a lobe on the camshaft for a mechanical lift pump).
