So I pulled the drivers side and it's full of nasty sludge but there's no spots in the harness I guess im gonna have to buy the harness it's hard getting time I've been replacing the roof skin on my 76 crew cab and there's gotta be 200 spot welds. I'll also post more pics of the bad wires the look cracked and not cut the oil is clean btw so I'm not sure if it's a head gasket I'm hoping not
You will have to start a new thread with your symptoms and all the other info but most things can be found by using search bar. Chances are the problems you have with your truck have also happened to others.
So back to the obd2 and 1 stuff I have power to the obd2 connector but it still days it's not connected it's a late 95 build so could I just find a 96 computer and plug it in and go with that or am I looking at a reflash? Oh i also got the new cps in so I'm gonna try that today also if I get a break in the weather I have my 76 in the shop so I'm working on this in the driveway
I was using the free version of forscan and dashcommand I connected it to my dad's 97 and it read it was a bit confusing but i got it to read with what pid's to read
The the 1st picture that looks like an eec data port it was unplugged from that white box it's plugged into
The 2nd picture is wires that are capped off I'm not sure what they go to bit my dad has an old security device in his truck that there's a chip u plug in and it immobilized the truck is that what the wires are for?
I also bought the motor craft cps and put it in but it still does the same thing. So what now the obd2 port still doesn't read it lights up the device but won't connect bit will connect to other vehicles.
This is what I'm using to connect to the truck. So can I pull the icp sensor and put a gauge there to test the hpop pressure?
I am guessing this adapter has a switch on it. Are you sure it is turned to the correct side when connecting to the truck?

I have an early 95 and it works with OBDII. It connects to Forscan for Windows, Forscan Lite Android, Car Gauge Pro, and Torque Pro. But to answer the question above, I took a computer PCM out of a 96 and put it in my truck and it started and drove. It also connected to Forscan and Torque Pro (I didn't try the others). Both my PCMs are for automatic transmission trucks though.
And lastly, since you have the valve covers off, did you follow the above advice and see if the injectors were squirting oil when you were cranking the engine? If so, then the IDM is working and telling the injectors to inject fuel, so in this scenario, no smoke means no fuel. No oil squirting means something is not telling the injectors to send fuel to the cylinder, which would mean the fuel system could be good, but not commanded to send it to the cylinder.
Yea it's switched on but it just won't find the device when it's plugged in this truck lights light up but it won't find it on my blue tooth list
There was no oil squirting out when cranked either
