California is going to see even higher fuel prices in the future with Chevron and Phillips 66 leaving the state. I guess they're still going full bore on the EV route while thinking they will leverage the rest of the country.

California homes are big on solar while their electric rates and gas prices are the highest in the nation. Having solar there makes good sense.

EVs being fueled by solar in CA is the way to go. My Sister lives in a Sebastopol and she and most of her friends have EVs for daily drivers.

The electric rates there are 37 ¢/kWH vs the 13 cents I pay in Florida. She produces enough electricity where her bill is rarely over $50/mo, even charging the EV, running the pool pump and running central the AC in the house.
