Trip up Pryor Mountain WY/ MT to hopefully see some wild horses. Trailered the Wolverine and unloaded on Gypsum Creek Rd., drove up Burnt Timber Ridge Rd., 2 hours from unloading to the top of the wild horse range, spent 3.5 hours viewing 37 horses and have a road dinner up there. 2 hours traveling back down to the truck going Crooked Creek Rd. Roughly 60 miles getting back near 8pm.
These 2 were grazing near the road edge. Stopped 150' away when this one grazed toward us then investigated the Wolverine.

Great riding and lots of pics.
I fished Big Horn Canyon during early Covid, camping at Barry's Landing. Had I known there was an opportunity to ride near there I would have brought the side-by-side. Next time!

How often are you using fairgrounds? I've seen those locations pop up on Campendium a few times, but I am not familiar with any rules about using them.

That was the first fairgrounds we've used. I'm a boondocker and hardly ever use campgrounds now. Beginning of Nov 2021 was our last paid campground we've been in.... living off of solar/ lfp.

I'm done plenty of boondocking, just not for extended periods of time. I went for three weeks in September as a trial run. Finding places to dump the tanks and get fresh water was interesting. I certainly learned that staying at a location for just one night is a huge PITA. Setting up and taking down in less than a 12 hour period is a lot of work.

We've stayed at one. Stafford, AZ last March on the way out to the Grand Canyon. Nothing spectacular but it had water, electric and sewer for $25 a night. About 15 of the 20 spots were folks living there though and there wasn't a lick of shade. We could smell the horse stalls from about 30 yards away when the wind shifted just right. The wife likes to use RV Parky to plot our stops so I guess that is how she found it. I think she has one or two more fairgrounds penciled in for the trip next year.
Well this might be out of bounds as it is not from my windshield but I did drive my 2017 F-350 to the show to see all this stuff.
This video is from the 52nd Annual State Show for the Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association. The show was today (October 7, 2023) in Temple, Texas. They had an incredible array of equipment - much of 100 years old, still functioning and still able to do its original job. Pretty cool.

Very cool. I gave you a Like over on YT. I saw machines like that one time in Iowa when I was maybe 12 years old. It was a great event. I think it was the threshers show, or something like that.

Thanks! Yeah, this show as awesome - the largest in Texas I believe. I just love something about the sound of a hit-n-miss engine working under a load. :-)

I could of taken this from the windshield but wouldn't of shown very well. I stopped and turned around to get a couple pics this morning. Only second tarantula I've seen in my travels.

If I saw that in my travels the view from my windshield would be my fata$$ hood sliding like a wannabe Bo Duke to get away from it.... YIKES!
