Any of you 17” guys have some tips for me? Going to get mounted and balanced this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Thanks!!
Tip: don’t let them drop your truck.
I have 35x12.5.R18 Toyo RTs on my 18 w/stock rims no rub stock height. You should have no problem at all. I’ll be putting on the carli level kit soon because as soon as u go to the new bigger tires you can really notice the wheel well gap distance. I’m about 11.5 from tire to the “crease” on the wheel well in back and just under 9 up front. I have a tool box in the back that I keep some chains and a full floor rolling jack in.
I've been researching which type of kit to go with for over a month now. Talked to every local shop and most of the big online folks and Carli themselves. I even reached out to some suspension people i know from the road racing world. I'm going Carli, just not sure if i'm doing Commuter or Backcountry. I do almost zero off road but i tow a race trailer and daily drive this thing until it's paid off and I get back into something fast. Also probably going with the 17/37 combo for best ride. Just waiting to sell a Miata project car and i'll be hopping on board the Carli train. Looking forward to it!

I'm between the same as well. BUT also might do Fox 2.5's up front, really enjoyed them on my Titan. Either way i'm gonna also do the add a pack.
Carli tunes the resi shocks with a bit more aggressive valve stack fyi. according to a recent youtube video CJC put up.
Soon as i throw the kit on my 295/70R18's are gonna look too small lol

I went with the Fox 2.5" factory edition (front and rear) and am really happy with them. As for the tire size - yes the stock tires will make your truck look like a body builder with skinny legs. Hell, while I was having my 37's put on I snapped a shot of them and sent it to my wife and her reply was that they looked small lol - I could only imagine what she would have said if I went 35's
To the defense of those of us with 37's, once she saw the truck in person she said the pic angle wasn't good and the 37's fit perfect. I was having the 35" vs 37" debate with myself for a while and am glad I went the 37" route.

Yea it just means i'll definitely run 35's next time. I do like the 34x12's on the stock height though.

This is the same route I went (mods in signature) and I don't have a single regret. In fact, my truck rides so well that I find it hard to spend the money to upgrade to the Kings, which was my original plan. I wanted to spend the money on all of the hard parts and get them on the truck. So rather than going with the Pintop and getting Kings, I went with the Commuter with the 2.0 Fox shocks and added the fabricated radius arms, which IMO are a must. The factory arms look like complete trash once the truck is lifted (again IMO).
IF you don't have any intentions of upgrading later, as I do; then I would suggest going with the mid level Back Country kit since the price difference isn't outrageously expensive. However, I still think you would still be satisfied if you chose to go with the Commuter.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm also talking with a King dealer who can build me a kit with their 2.5's, springs, deavers and all the extras for right around $5k. Still too much for someone not off-roading though and just looking for a good ride. My local Carli shop is awesome but they are pushing me to a Pintop. I'm already going to get a 17/37 combo which will make the ride great, Pintop seems like overkill to me.
I emailed with Carli and they said to get a Commuter since it's the softest ride.
Received my backcountry 2.0 kit yesterday, I don’t think I’ll have an opportunity to install it for a while but I’m initially impressed with the high quality of everything.
On my last east truck I put on a zone front spacer leveling kit with an add-a-pack. I thought that was pretty decent, but there is a clear quality upgrade with the Carli components.
You’ll need a massive crows foot, I think 1 1/2 or so and of course getting that track bar torque to 406 lbs is out of the league of my biggest torque wrench. I may go with the old fashioned breaker bar torque to spec method but I’d probably feel better if I can find a shop that can snug it to spec for me.

Keep in mind that Carli spends a ton of time and money into developing and tuning their shocks to specific vehicles. They use a King or Fox shock then 5h!t can the shim stacks and start from scratch. They make an adjustment and then hit the highways or trails (depending on the application), go back to the shop, tear down, re-adjust, and hit the trails, go back to the shop and do it over and over again and again until they have the ride they are looking for. They are basically doing for you what a professional race team does with their equipment.
King and Fox makes a shock to the proper length, adds in weight data into a computer and create a "tune" for the vehicle. They both make so many shocks for so many application they do not have the time to put into each product like Carli does. Carli currently makes these shocks for Ford and Dodge, If they tried to make them for every application under the sun they wouldn't have the time and would be forced to do the same a King and Fox.
Long story short, a Carli tuned King shock is not the same product as something you would purchase form a King dealer. That being said King has one of the best products out there but if your going to spend the money to put a King product on a $70K truck why not put the best on the best?
If you drive aggressively and like to camp and off-road the Carli Pintop kit is the way to go hands down. Its a tad stiff on the road like any sport suspension but its ability to control the vehicle is second to none. Its off-road capabilities are confidence inspiring, makes you feel like your Ken Block in baja. If you are looking for the most comfort on the road the commuter is your best bet and most affordable.
I am planning on getting the Carli 2.5 pintop for my 2017 f250. I was wondering if anyone had tried the Black Rhino Armory wheels in 17, i've heard they should fit, but have also heard some 17s have clearance issues. Here is the wheel, https://fitment.blackrhinowheels.com...rd&model=F-250 any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.
