I'm curious to know if the air bags changed the ride.
With the minimum 20 PSI, it feels a bit stiffer when crossing some speed bumps on a few 25 MPH roads in our neighborhood. But conversely, when commuting at 35 MPH on a section of road that's notorious for its bumpy ride (almost washboard-like), a section which I'll often try to avoid by changing lanes, the ride there felt smoother. So yes, the ride changed, but I'm not disappointed with the change. These observations are of the ride without a load in the bed. I haven't yet experienced what change there may be when loaded.

Thanks for the response! It's the washboard-like surfaces that I would like to see improvement on. Then again, if I improve the ride of the truck maybe I'll be driving too fast for the conditions and the trailer won't be happy.
Awesome! I just noticed your sig says you have an RDS tank. Do you have the toolbox combo or a straight auxiliary tank? I'm in the market for one and RDS is on my short list.

I have a 60 gal combo box, this is the 3rd truck it's been in. My hard tonneau cover fits over it too. Just watch the width of the tank, I had to cut a tab off one side of mine.
You can add bags and inflate them with garage or gas station compressor. Lots of guys have done that for years and years. Onboard air is a relatively new thing. It only takes a couple hours max to install bags, real easy install. If you have wheel well liners you need to make a small notch so the bags dont rub. Small price to pay to have the bags inside the leaf springs rather than over the bump stop tangs.
Thanks for the info and the pictures (especially the one with the wheel well liner fit) that made the decision to go with the Torque's easy. I installed Firestones on my 2014 and they were a pain in the *** to install over the tang so I'm looking forward to an easier install. I like your setup with the compressor and tank on the strut mounts, do you have a write-up or part numbers? I did the fill on my own on the last truck but between tires, rafts, and kids inflatables it would be really nice to have on-board air.

There's a couple other airbag threads where I've laid it all out, I pieced my own kit together to give me the functionality I wanted for about 1/3 the price of the kits you can buy from the big manufacturers. I typed out a long post detailing it all with pics and detailed instructions and when I posted it, the site went down....it just couldn't handle the awesomeness of that post I guess. I rage quit at that point tho and haven't had the inkling to go through that again yet.

That sucks man, sometime this site can be a PIA but its all worth it. I'll look around for the other threads and I sent some rep points. Thanks!
