I'm looking to get a small compressor for my truck. If all goes to plan I would like to mount it under the bed where my spare tire would be.
I was looking at this one over at riffraff Riffraff Diesel: ExtremeAire Jr. Compressor but if anyone has one to recommend I'd like to hear it. I dont know much about air systems other than I want onboard air. I also plan on adding a tank so the compressor doesn't need a tank.
What are you going to use it for? A compressor that small can be mounted outside on the frame rail along with a 2 1/2 gallon tank leaving your spare tire in place. (those spares come in handy sometimes).
The compressor you linked to has a 50% duty cycle, so depending on what you want the air for, it may or may not be enough.

Mostly for airing up my tires and the atvs and such, but when I get bored with that I'm going to add a horn.

I have AAA and my tires are under warranty, so I should be good. Plus my spare is many sizes too small.
I bought the Air Lift 25572 - Double Quick Shot System years ago when i put air bags on my van, when i traded it for my F250, I moved it all over to my truck (except for the bags) I mounted the compressor behind the back seat, ran the outlet to the tank, mounted on the frame rail under the cab, then ran an air line to a bracket under the rear bumper with a quick connect, Then ran a 2cd line to my dash with an air gauge(pressure in the tank) and switch(turn it on & off), use it for tire's, kids toys, and some day rear air bags. never had an issue, or over heating the compressor.
figuring they would not be that impressive and would burn out quickly. But I hoped they would last long enough until I could afford one of the high dollar units. Their CFM is above many of the high dollar units, but their peak psi is lower. That is fine, I rarely need more than 80 psi anyway.
I now have 3. None have given out.... One is 5 years old and still going strong... I'm surprised and pleased.
Two of them are mounted under the truck to feed a 5 gallon tank.
