Particulate Filter Status

Yesterday on the way home I checked particulate filter status said it was at 99% so I watched It. It started to come down till it got to 50% I stopped driving to pick up some take out food but never shut the truck off and kept the RPM s up to 2000 while the wife got the food then continued driving for another 40 minutes and it never went below the 50 %. Is that normal for it to stop if you quite moving for a couple minutes ? Seems like it should have finished.

Yep, it will stop itself pretty quickly if the right parameters aren't maintained. The good news is that it really doesn't hurt anything.

If you put it in Park or Neutral the active regen will stop. I tried to keep mine going by shifting to Neutral and putting on the emergency brake. That didn't work.
