I've had at least one box (usually several) from Riffraff, Diesel O-rings, Rock Auto, etc., waiting in my garage to be unpacked and installed for the last 3 years.
I found a box of first gen SHO tarus new parts the other day and some other misc items for who knows what. One receipt was from 2009 and others have no receipt. Wonder if I can get some credit back at Oreily's if I ask nice? 6 spark plugs at 16.99 each I never used. Cars are long gone.
I still have rock guards sitting in a box under my workbench to install on my truck. I bought them shortly after getting the truck...in the fall of 2007.
Yeah most of these parts Im putting in ive had all winter.
I got the wheel torqued down. Put the cover on everything spins. No back and forth.
Tho I am ticked off, I spent all that time painting the turbo and I kinda didnt think about baking it. . . So when I torqued the bolts down it chipped about a half inch circle around each of them. . . I guess Ill put a bag around the exhaust housing and paint the bolts and everything. . .
Just gotta wait until Im done with injectors and all that to put it back in. Gonna attempt the plenum reseal as well
1 plenum down one to go. Kinda kicking myself for not going ahead and getting a new pedestal without all the restrictions. . . I thought it was a big deal to get it off. . . not just 4 bolts. Anyhow, I cant afford anymore downtime on this sucker so Ill have to deal with what I got. Turbo should be going in either today or tomorrow. Kinda touched up the paint a little bit, itll spin no matter how it looks
Not yet. . . Last minute weekend adventure so I was in Ohio for the weekend. I got the plenums sealed up and pulled the pedestal and cleaned it up. Got it in with new O rings. Going to run the new exhaust then put the turbo in. And ISSPRO gauges gotta get installed
Then I think I should be good to go. . . Im worried Ill forget something before I try to crank it over. . . I have a few extra 13mm bolts IDK where they came from tho lol. 2 of them are studs. . . I left a few out of the VCs cuz Ill re torque injectors after the first run. We will see if they are critical bolts haha

A TON of pics in my current thread while I'm doing plenums, HPOP fittings and lines, and a bunch of stuff.
I also did ball joints and wheel axle hub. This link starts with the RiffRaff items received.
I'm hoping to get it all back together tomorrow night. I also have to pull the valve covers and check the oil for each injector and hot torque them. Should be tomorrow afternoon after I get home.
Just have to get the turbo and pedestal installed, and spider installed to the intake plenums and get the fuel and oil all primed and ready to go.

You're gonna have all kinds of fun with that Vband clamp...Make sure you've got the collector lined up with the turbo in the back with your uppipes, then jack the spider around the front of the turbo and line up. then pull the vband forward over the union. I would tighten it a couple of turns, rotate the band a little, line it up, check the Spider/Turbo union and then tighten some more. I think there's a Oring in there sealing the 2 halves together. Once you're sure the 2 surfaces are mated together well, make 'em guten tite. I'm sure there's a tourque spec, but I don't recall what it is right now DON'T Rush it!

Yeah it was a PITA! Plus I had bolted the turbo down and forgot the clamps. So I had to take them apart and try to wrap them around. The up pipes was hard cuz I couldn't see it. Finally got it all. Then noticed my spider wasn't lined up. So I ended up having to loosen the turbo bolts and pry up on it. That got it lined up. I almost forgot the O ring there. . .
