We found a few places that would store the trailer for around 30 to 35 bucks per month. One had one single immediate opening, and one has no openings and is a stand in line kind of situation. I am not sure we are going to buy it till the spring of next year, but I am not sure how it is going to work yet we may just buy/take ownership of it after Labor day. Who knows.
Yeah a neighbor also called me and told me he has some land that I could put it on, but its in the back portion of one of his renter's lot of their house. I am a little nervous that they may have kids over that want to climb up the ladder in the back and get hurt or fall through the sun windows in the roof, or something similar. I may consider taking the ladder off the back for that reason. I can't think of many reasons I would need to climb on the roof. and I can store it away until I need it, or relocate it. We haven't settled on a price for that, but we are going to meet this evening and look the place over.
Looks like I have a set of 4 camper jacks (for a slide in camper) Way less then I thought they were going to be- One lady wanted $300 for 3 and I was like OK - but she started giving me pressure- I can sell them for more if I repost them you are getting a heck of a deal- you come get them today- when you pay me--- type stuff--- I finally told her to forget it- she was pretty mad- but she hadn't taken down the add and I wasn't going to drop everything and drive to Lawrence. SHe wanted me to send her $50 for wasting her time-- I said sure come get it-- Luckily she only has my junk email account :-) 2 clicks and she is blocked (after sending her a few notices like "Sorry this account is only used by smart people-- and my all time favorite-- You have reach Horny's sex shop please place your order buy email" But I pick up the new set on Friday at Core first bank. Its some older couple that sold their camper.
I thought I posted here, but it was gone when I went back to look at it.. weird..
I picked up a couple of trailer mirrors from Oreilly's last night, and Julie ordered a hitch lock for it. I wish there were more secure ways to lock it up from being stolen or from someone prying a door open and turning it into a meth lab, or living in it while it is unwatched.
Julie seems to really be excited about having a camper. Way more than I expected. She is buying and ordering things to keep in the camper. Thinking of things to move to the camper, etc.. etc...
I am excited and nervous at the same time. I am just hoping it doesn't tax my truck too much, brakes, transmission or engine. That would be catastrophic. It's at the top of the range for what my truck is rated at.

One thing for sure, if you tow at the max rating of your vehicle then it will quickly bring all the weak points to light, and fast. Within the first tow of our camper it blew out all the shocks, within the second or third tow it had the trans. temp at the hottest it had ever saw. Be absolutely sure to check your suspension over before and after the first time you take it on a decent length tow. I'd make sure you have fresh fluids (or at least check the levels) in the engine\trans\axles before you take off. I know the Denali insisted on pulling in the 3k+ rpm range which made the engine creep up in temp. It had me pretty nervous, but I also don't like tearing up our main family vehicle. I'd hate to see the tow bill on getting the vehicle AND camper towed back home
That's awesome that Julie is excited though, I really think you guys are going to really enjoy yourselves. We constantly look forward to getting away at the lake and watching the kids play in the water. I'm already counting down the minutes to Friday afternoon right now......
Suspension should be fine it looks good, I was just under there this last weekend checking things out, I do need to write in a code for the trans temp in my Torque program in my phone.
Really happy your wives support the camping thing-- Mine walks through a grass stretch in front of the hotel and complains about ticks and chiggers ( true story) -- Torgue program in your phone? Tell us more!
Torque App.
Its the little blue tooth device that plugs in to my OBDII port and reads faults, monitors my engine misfires, speed, gauges, clears check engine light faults once I have fixed something, etc..
It was like 25 bucks on Amazon. Only works with android phones. I think they have ones out there that work with iPhones as well.
The app that you put on your phone is only something like 6 bucks, but they have a free version that has less options.
