for the government employees reading this, I want to you know that I looked and can't find my 9mm. It must have fallen out of my pocket while fishing in the ocean..
If you read my posts It was never stated that I own a fire arm except one rifle-- Which is an antique collectable-- Any government empoyees reading this page-- GOOD FOR YOU your a Ford Person :-) :-)
I'm a good two-shoes and have proper paperwork for all our firearms. Luckily it will be a cold day in hell before I willingly hand them over to someone at my front door, government employee or not
I wouldn’t borrow a gun going out of state especially a handgun. That may get you into Federal issues. If you have a concealed carry permit check online about reciprocity of the states you are going to and CA and CO may have magazine capacity limits. The irony is the places where you most likely need it also have the strictest laws.
A shotgun in the camper or inaccessible in the vehicle is probably safest legally. And you can say you were going to shoot trap if presented the opportunity.
No state should give you much trouble traveling with a cased and unloaded handgun.
Just some thoughts. Of course you all know I’m not an attorney either.
Thanks for the advice! I researched every state and across the board they read that if I travel with my pistol cased, unloaded, and in the camper then I will be completely alright. Sure it won't be ready to roll if something immediately comes up, but if I have a few minutes notice then it would sure be nice to have it compared to leaving it at home.
As for magazine limits, my revolver only holds 6 so I should be fine. Shotgun would be nice, but all of ours are long and would be hard to store.
If you acrry a shot gun carry a few blue rock-- if you carry the pistol carry a few used and unused targets. If you carry a baseball bat- carry a glove too-- Makes your lawyer happy.
