I had to buy two new tires for the 5th wheel. The axles need to be straightened or replaced as it eats tires after 3-4k miles. Anyone know of a place that straightens axles within decent distance from Manhattan. There used to be a place in Salina, but they went out of business.
Tires run about $250-$300 a pair and it seems I need to replace 2 or the 4 on a rotating basis about every few years. A new axle would run $800-$1000 if I install it. Maybe I just need to buy tires every few years. At least then they don't blow out from age.
For the price, I think you would not get hurt too bad, however there seems to be some water damage above the sink. Not a deal breaker, just maybe needs a little attention.
I like it, it reminds me of one Dennis used to have. I always wished I had one, but don't have a place to store it. I wonder how it would sleep 5. I would like to see that setup.
We had a pull type pop up when the kids were little and loved it. You could always sell the pickup trailer for a couple of hundred and recoup some of the cost. Chances are it was still be worth $500-$700 after 5 years unless it develops a bad leak and gets rotten.
Canvas replacement can get expensive on those, but they will take a lot of repair before they need to be replaced.
I have been looking on Craig's list for about a year- and I really think this type of camper is the best option for me. I need to get a trailer someday too-- I was thinking of storing the camper on the trailer when not in use. some guys make roll around stands to put them on-- I could make an offraod version and store it next to the house on some gravel- the grass doesn't not grow there anyway. Wishful thinking right now though
I don't know how sturdy they are, or how well they hold up to jolts, and bumps. (I have a video playing on repeat in my head of hitting a bump, and the whole thing just shatters)
You would definitely need to do some reinforcing if you were to take it offroad with you.
It has a freezer for ice cream. Wooo hoooo. Now ya just needs a ac unit an a furnace. I guess that space under the cabinet is fer the loo. Didn't see no inside outlets fer the margarita maker ur no 100 jigawatt tunes blaster. Through in a handful of young attractive females to make the top go up an down an serve the margaritas an I might be tempted.
I kinda like it. It looks to be full size so it'd be fer yer tow truck. So ya wouldn't be runing up an down Iron Chest with it. For the price I agree ya should do ok with it. I'd like ta see a fan ta move air inside it. And a bug zapper ta kill them pesky things so you kin sleep at night. Ifin I had sumpthin ta mount it on I'd be temped. I give it a .
