yeah, we were fortunate that we were traveling on cooler days, which may not be the case moving forward. I may eventually install fans on the cooler to push the air if needed.

Yup, this weekend was pretty prime for towing and stayed mild. Towing in the heat is the most stressful part of camping for me, I'm glad I cut it out. I'll probably try to tow to other lakes once we upgrade to a newer Denali, but this one has enough miles on the clock for me to give it an easy life for as long as we own it.
with my old truck with a bunch of miles on the ODO, I used to not be afraid to hop in it and pull just knowing that I was going to take it easy and move on down the road, this truck has fewer miles and I spent nearly twice the amount on it, so I hate to pour too much more money in it, so every little thing is monitored, and checked often.
I just don't want to replace the Denali for another year, so I'm babying it along the best I can in hopes that it won't go belly up. If something does let go I just hope that anything but the engine goes out, that way I can swipe it and put it in a project car
Luckily people have been LS-swapping for over a decade now so the know-how is out there and readily available. Pulling it out would be easy, then I'll just have to hunt down a suitable recipient for the transplant
On ROADKILL they put a Dodge Cummins in a Cadillac Eldorado.... That one worked well for them, for the time that they filmed. I wonder what the long time effect of doing that would be? Cracked frame? Bad Suspension, not made for that kind of weight? Twisted Axles?
They probably didn't worry much about Check Engine Lights.
I would have expected more, but in my mind I was thinking more about the torque that it would create. Speaking from what little experience I have, Old International truck with the inline 6 cylinders had a lot of torque and would crack the frame. Not much speed though. : (
Of course Iron changed a lot in the 20-30 years since my truck was made to the time a LTD station wagon was made.
