That seems to be the common theme around here today, got a call while changing into my shop clothes and now I'm going to be doing a furniture pickup and delivery instead. Seeing as there's lights in the shop I can finish pulling the motor out of the 48 tonight and make some cash this afternoon.
That's a bummer Morris.. I worked solo again.. a couple hours with the backpack blower since it was blow down inside and outside the garden area.. was a little late getting out as usual..
I still hope to get a ride in Steve, next wk won`t be so terrible after a fairly chilly weekend. I worked later tonight than I expected to but that`s not an unusual for me.
This was a friend that has a new tenant and they bought some furniture from a few different places and wanted a decent rate instead of paying for each individual delivery and trying to coordinate them all. The 239 out of the 48 and transmission are going to stare at me and get in the way until I find something to do with it. Maybe someone will convince me to build a trike or something with a side car on it so that I can say 'I've got something you don't have '.
It would be nice to have something different Steve but I just don't know what to do with it right now and I've got a long fork Triumph in the basement waiting for a 750 + .080 big piston kit to be installed so that is the the bike priority for now.
The last bike ride I had was to test ride a 1200 Harley bobber that was a bit heavy and hard to handle single handed and I want something that's easy to handle which is why I like bare bones bikes.
I've got a 255 53 flathead in the shop that's going into my 20 Overland and that might get a bigger crank if the electrician that looked at my shop power holds true to his estimate.
I'm 140 pounds soaking wet so bike weight and ease of handling means a lot, to much power on the top end is dangerous for me on the highway as these 1200 Harleys are rocket ships when I crack the throttle at 70 mph. To many projects around here but now there's finally a real shop to work out of, last 3 trucks were built on the street and in a portable shelter without heat.
