Good evening snow bounded and self converationalists, finally finished getting the lights up in the shop, added 7 2 bulb 4 foot t8 light cans. Took the hood off the 48 and now I can see what I'm doing, its like a vision overdose with all these lights. Hoods on these old trucks sure are light. We had a high of -1 and some snow crystals today.

I have fairly good lighting in my shop but there is a lot of places when working on the vehicle there just isn't enough, I think it's time for a new trouble light too..

I've got a few trouble lights that I can send you John, I seem to be cursed with trouble lights as I'm always breaking bulbs in them. These lights sure changed the way the shop is compared to the way it was, now there's even a reflection off the floor.

I bought an LED conversion for my trouble light, at $40 I thought it was a bit pricey and not all that much brighter. Hopefully it`s better at taking small drops then my incandescent one was.

Evening y'all.. I priced LED t8's at work tonight.. Guess I will get a little at a time.. a little meaning enough for 4 2 bulb fixtures.. Think I will go with the 6500 instead of the 4000..

Hi Steve.
I started out by getting a few LED shop lights but it didn`t take long before I replaced 90% of the lights in both shops.
It`s a cold evening here, I`m glad that next wk is supposed to be a lot warmer.

I bought a few on sale and liked them, another sale came up and it was a done deal.I replaced about 10-300 watt bulbs, cut down on my power by quite a bit.

These T8s that I got were $20 a can plus bulbs so I bought a box of bulbs and 5 cans at a time, back then the LEDs were $80 a can with bulbs, $120 was better than $400. The T8s are the most efficient for florescent fixtures but they have a temperature limitation of -16c. There's supposed to be a conversion kit for these cans and that may be what I'll be looking for on Ebay and I'll buy it from China and wait for the boat to get here.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone and hope you are having a great day.
About a month ago the converted my stores 8foot FLs to LED. There is a conversion kit from 8foor to two 4 foot LED. It only took the people doing it about 5 minutes a fixture.
The one thing I noticed was the 6500K LEDs were much brighter than the 6000K FLs. But the LEDs are more sensitive and flicker more then heat/AC kicks on.
